2015 Reading Challenge [Closed] discussion

I needed to read a book about sustainability for a course I'm taking, which is the main reason I chose this one.

Finished it early because my assignment was due before week 13. The book is set in Los Llanos, the savannah of eastern Colombia. Paolo Lugari, along with a collection of scientists, engineers, students and other people not afraid to try out new ideas have founded a self-sufficient community among one of the harshest environments in the world.

It was really interesting to read, and to see that there are sustainable energy options, and other ways to reduce human reliance on fossil fuels and non-renewable energy. Definitely worth reading. More countries should be approaching renewable energy and sustainability the way the people of Gaviotas have approached these topics.
