Sweethearts Challenge:
Sweethearts are small heart-shaped sugar candies sold around Valentine's Day. Each heart is printed with a message such as "Be Mine", "Kiss Me", "Call Me", or "Miss You". Throughout the years, we've seen new flavors and phrases come along such as sour apple and "LOL".

For this challenge, teams will be trying to get as many hearts as they can. Think of it as the game "Hungry Hungry Hippos" and the person with the most balls at the end wins. Instead of little colorful balls, you are gathering little candy hearts.

In order to gather a heart, you must find the phrase using a book. How you find them can be done in several ways. You can do any of the following,

1. Find the words in text. Please add the %, page number or chapter and the quote(s) with the word(s). You can use the same book for the entire phrase (or multiple books) and the words do not have to be in the same quote.
2. Using the book title, series title, and author's first and last name to spell it out. Any edition works for this.
3. Using the first and last name of any main or side character within the book. You can even combine the first name of a main or side character with the last name of a different main or side character.
4. If the phrase has a number (4, 3, 2, etc.) or sign (#, -, <, etc.) you will need to get creative. For example, you can either use the page count or series # (ex: #1 in series) if your phrase has a number within it. As for sign, "#" can be used as a series book, "-" can be used for hyphenated titles or names (character or author), “=” can be used as equal in text, and "<" can be used for this book is less than 300 pages (or something).
5. It's completely up to you. All phrases can be repeated throughout the challenge as well.

This challenge will have 150 phrases to find. One book per phrase. Again, each one is repeatable. Each completed phrase will give you one candy heart. Also, if you read over 100 pages of a book in February that you started before the challenge, it can count towards a phrase.

This will be a team reading challenge, which will run from February 1st to February 28th. Winners will be announced on March 1st.

Teams will be split as evenly as possible. If you would like to be on the same team with anyone, please comment with who when signing up. Please make sure that they also sign up.

When signing up, please mention the number of books you plan on reading for the month of February. These numbers will be easier for me to make teams match up evenly.

Jennifer - 25 books

** You will not be penalized if you go over or under your number.**

51 - 99 pages → 0.5 pts (will only count for page points)
100 - 149 pages → 1 pt
150 - 249 pages → 2 pts
250 - 349 pages → 3 pts
350 - 449 pages → 4 pts
450 - 549 pages → 5 pts
550 - 649 pages → 6 pts
650 - 749 pages → 7 pts
750 - 849 pages → 8 pts
850 - 949 pages → 9 pts
950+ pages → 10 pts
