Horror Aficionados discussion

Hello, Aficionados! I'm planning a read of Nightfall in February. It's the first book in a series of 6. (The final book, Lily, is due out on January 18th.) I've been planning to read it for a while now, and when I spoke with him on Twitter about it, he said he wouldn't mind joining us, so....whoohoo!

I wanted to see if anyone wanted to join us here? The first five books in the series are currently on sale at Amazon for only .99 each, and it is available on Kindle Unlimited as well!

I hope to see some of you here in February!

His work just...speaks to me. I love it!

Agreed! That one comes out next Tuesday, I believe.

The first few in the series look like novellas. If things go well with this read, maybe we can read the second together next month or something?

We'll be starting in February, so everyone should have plenty of time to pick up a copy, be it on paper or for Kindle.

Austrian, the cover of that book is insanely awesome! Glad to hear that you're enjoying that one, because that means you must have enjoyed the previous books and that bodes well for us.

I have Unlimited for the next 6 months, I might as well take advantage of it. Char or anyone in the know, would you describe this as apocalyptic horror, or fantastical horror? Fantastical horror has never been my wheelhouse, but I am willing to give anything a try.

I am reading them now. Looking forward to February.

I haven't read them yet, so I cannot say. Hopefully Dan himself, Austrian or Leigh could tell you more. (But no spoilers please!)

Both, although the horror elements are more psychological than fantastical at the beginning of the journey. There’s a fair amount of mysteriousness shrouding the onset of this particular apocalyptic event. Hope that helps!

I adore serialized stories that span multiple book releases and am very excited for the journey I expect to take while reading these books. Thanks for bringing to my attention the Nightmareland Chronicles… looking forward to February’s group read!
