I'm looking for novels to read. I've been reading the same things over and over again, and I have a few books pretty much memorized, *rolls eyes* I NEED NEW READING MATERIAL.
Looking for a hot dominant male, bratty female romance, the steamier the better. And yes: I do mean dominant, not abusive. I believe that there is a distinct difference.
I really liked Feral Sins by Suzanne Wright, and Soul Deep by Lora Leigh. Does anyone know some books like those?

꧁༺ L̴E̴X̴I̴E̴ ༻꧂ | 68 comments I also liked Suzanne Wright's Phoenix Pack. If you're looking for something new that's sort of like that, I've got a couple of recs. I saw that you already read Mercy Thompson. I really like that Patricia Briggs series and her Alpha and Omega one with Anna and Charles. I'm also a fan of Ilona Andrews so her Kate Daniels, Hidden Legacy, and Innkeeper series are some of my favorites. There's a couple other recs though that I've really liked and while the first books establish the chemistry, it usually picks up and gets steamier as it goes along.

Rejected (Shadow Beast Shifters, #1) by Jaymin Eve Reclaimed (Shadow Beast Shifters, #2) by Jaymin Eve Reborn (Shadow Beast Shifter, #3) by Jaymin Eve Deserted (Shadow Beast Shifters, #4) by Jaymin Eve
The Shadow Beast Shifters is a newer series by Jaymin Eve and one I've really liked, plus it's one of the rare ones that gets better with each book.

Savage Lands (Savage Lands, #1) by Stacey Marie Brown Wild Lands (Savage Lands, #2) by Stacey Marie Brown Dead Lands (Savage Lands, #3) by Stacey Marie Brown Bad Lands (Savage Lands, #4) by Stacey Marie Brown
This is an ongoing series by a new author that I found. I really like discovering indie authors and Stacey Marie Brown's Savage Lands series has got plenty of heat, a dominant male and a snarky female lead.

Rhapsodic (The Bargainer, #1) by Laura Thalassa A Strange Hymn (The Bargainer, #2) by Laura Thalassa Dark Harmony (The Bargainer, #3) by Laura Thalassa
Laura Thalassa's Bargainer series is another one that I've really enjoyed and I've re-read them all.

This Dark Wolf (Soul Bitten Shifter, #1) by Everly Frost This Broken Wolf (Soul Bitten Shifter, #2) by Everly Frost This Caged Wolf (Soul Bitten Shifter, #3) by Everly Frost This Cruel Blood (Soul Bitten Shifter, #4) by Everly Frost
Besides the Jaymin Eve series, this is another one of my top shifter favorites. It's not too steamy in the beginning, the attraction is there and more happens further along but the story and characters are too good to not include in the list.

The Mating (Law of the Lycans, #1) by Nicky Charles
I think this is a series but I've only read this book. It's definitely steamy and centers on the pre-arranged mating plot. I was kind of torn on this book but it might be what you're looking for with storyline and characters.

Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward
And of course, there's JR Ward. I've only read the first book but it pretty much checks off every box.

Once Burned (Night Prince, #1) by Jeaniene Frost Twice Tempted (Night Prince, #2) by Jeaniene Frost Bound by Flames (Night Prince, #3) by Jeaniene Frost Into the Fire (Night Prince, #4) by Jeaniene Frost
Vampire books are kind of hit or miss for me but Jeaniene Frost's Night Prince series is my top favorite when it comes to vampires. She also had her Night Huntress one which ties into this but I prefer Night Prince a lot more.

Hope this helps!

Melissa | 29 comments I’m deep into Zodiac Academy and if you power through the mediocre first book it’s very addictive (and gets steamier as it goes). Four Heirs plus other dominant males battling and lusting with two orphan 18-year-old women who find out they’re fae princesses and the heirs’ rivals for the throne. The Awakening

Mild spoiler alert: There’s a teacher-student romance, which I don’t love, but it is made better by the fact they’re all adults

BJ (barbararhodes) | 61 comments Basic Instinct (Shifters of Darkness Falls #1) by Jasmin Quinn
This is the first book in a 6 book series by Jasmin Quinn.
It's great, and love the gritty, angsty and steamy couples. There's a thread running through the series about a killer they can't quite identify. Good writing.
Wolf Bite (Wolves of Willow Bend, #1) by Heather Long
I hate this cover but the story was great. Lots of books in the series, I have 11 books and you've reminded me to buy the rest. Thx!
The Last Wolf (The Legend of All Wolves, #1) by Maria Vale
If you like challenging culture, you might like this series. I absolutely loved it. It's very different view of shifters.
The Bear Who Loved Me (Grizzlies Gone Wild, #1) by Kathy Lyons
Loved this series too - grizzlies who need their mates to calm their beasts. Great writing in this series. Book 2 is amazing. Funny opening scene.

Lilian Ming | 1 comments the books i've been reading where the romance are so fast like three chapters in and they feel something already, i need a book where there's a good amount of angst and buildup, toe curling smut with added banter with each other and lastly a romance so hair gripping frustrating, also i would love a tragedy involved somehow. im not so drawn to shifter romance so alien romance or fantasy romance(ex: witches, faeries, elves...) i know its kinda alot but i've been having trouble finding a book like this so help would be so much appreciated, also if it helps i loved laura thalassa horsemen series and master of crows by grace draven, thanks!

Have you read A Promise of Fire? It's a wonderful adaptation on Greek mythology, where the main character is a fiery woman with incredible powers. She's kidnapped, and it turns into a kind of Stockholm Syndrome type of deal. It's got a lovely slow burn, and some very heated scenes.
