Hi, I am writing a series of books where the main character is a 10-year-old boy, and they are exclusively first person. Obviously, I was ten once, but it was a long time ago. :-)
What I am looking for are books where some or all of the story is written as seen by a pre-teen boy or girl.
Ones that I have read include A High wind in Jamaica, Empire of the Sun and Treasure Island, Just William...
Autobiographies would be OK too, even if only the first few chapters are written from a younger perspective. I've got Boy and Going Solo by Roald Dahl, but not started reading them yet.
Ideally I'd like to find books which recapture childlike ways of looking at the world so that you almost feel you regress when reading them.
