Anyone wanna be our cap? I'd like to pass, if possible, but I'm always around to help, if needed!

Love all the names, and I couldn't really think of much more...
We B-4
Never B-4

I’ve read several so far this year. I’m up to 45, I think. Really trying to get current.

Hey y’all, ready to get reading? 🥳 First shelf is up!
Shelf #1 ~ 2 Feb 2022: Sci-Fi Romance
DIRECT LINK - Sci-Fi Romance (+ SOS' sci-fi romance)
I’ve gotta look through the shelves to see what I wanna read for both that and my FS book. I’ll let y’all know soon.
Anyone wanna captain us, LaurLa or Angie? Votes for team name?

How it fits: Best of shelf audiobook series
I will listen to the fabulous Susan Eriksen for this one.

I like all the names with 4 or four in the name, even though we are team 3! Lol
Moondance - you and I may be reading In Death books together! You are much farther along than I am.

I'll be happy to help, if you need anything! I can do it, if you don't want to - but please take it if you wish! :-)
The hardest thing is getting everyone to post selection posts and then completion posts - but I have a feeling that won't be an issue with our special team of 4! (Now, I've done it and I'll be the one that forgets!!!)

I’m a latecomer to In Death. I try to fit as many as I can into this bingo.

Thanks for volunteering, LaurLa! We’ll all help out, no worries. Pick a post on this page to be your/our book tracking thread; that’ll help the BSB ninjas.
As far as names, in keeping with fours, I’m kinda partial to:
Fearsome Foursome
Quad Squad
Quirky Quad
Quartet Threat
But I’m easy and am happy with whatever everyone likes best 😊

You. Suck. GR PTB. Why oh why, did you remove ALL of the ways one could find out if a specific book is on a specific shelf?!?! 🤬
I cannot tell you how over it I am searching aimlessly for a book for our first shelf (on my mf’n phone, of all things!) and how frustrated I am with Mr. R for landing on “sci-fi-romance” after I just finished The Purveli! Sheesh, man! (PS: if you like Immortal Guardians by Dianne Duvall, you gotta read the spin-off!) And, man, I suck at keeping the group’s bookshelves stocked. Geez! I’m gonna have to outsource that job or somethin’ cuz she’s a’lackin’! *bad Steph!*
I was so frustrated I almost settled on Fated Blades without having read books 1 or 2 yet just because I know IA never fails and the first two are too short. THAT’S how bad it got …. I don’t ever intentionally start a series in the middle.
**deep breathing commences** Okay, all that said, rant over, I think I’ve settled on the following:
FREE SPACE:

(on SOS Best of PNR list)
-or-

(on SOS Best of UF list)
SCI-FI-ROMANCE:

( Shelved sci-fi romance by 13 people
https://www.goodreads.com/work/shelve...)
-or-

( Shelved sci-fi romance by 5 people
https://www.goodreads.com/work/shelve...)
So sorry for the dupe possibles, I’ll let ya know which I settle into.

I have my choices, I think. I'll post them shortly.
I like the B-4 options but I think we should still get our team # in the name too since actual Team 4 will likely use 4 in their name and that could get visually confusing for the mods... What about "Quad Squad on Team 3"
Just putting it out there. I'm probably over-thinking it.

Here are some name options:
4/3 is Better Than 3/4
An (Over)Abundance of Bingo Lovers
YES! Steph can count to 3, er 4!
Team 3 and One!
Very excited to get started!!!"
Turning my post in message 7 into our tracking thread.

Re: names - I'm good with team consensus, but we don't need to avoid four-related names 'cuz I'm on this one and won't get 'um mixed up. 😉 Hopefully! 😆

It's happened before as well, so I'm good with it too.

Review:
As expected, there is murder and mayhem to solve. But Mavis (and a friend of hers) are very pregnant and due anytime....shocker - Eve and Roarke are her birthing partners, along with Leonardo who is her coach! I though it was hilarious that all the baby stuff got both Eve and Roarke flustered. The series continues to entertain me, even though by #23 the plot is fairly common. Still a great series in my opinion.
Look forward to finally getting current....I'm not even half way there!!

Review:
Was she dead?
Eve and Roarke are on the way home from a gala when a bloody naked woman steps out in front of their car. This leads to the discovery of her dead husband. Eve soon connects the murder to other home invasions involving the beating of men that are forced to watch the rape of their gorgeous wives.
This book struck quite a nerve with Eve as she could relate to the abuse the female victim has suffered at the hands of her husband. I think it made her more driven to find justice for her. Roarke's expert help is always a welcome addition to the story.
I love watching Eve make clues click into place. I had picked out the culprit early on, but it was still very enjoyable to watch the plot unfold.
I did not see the twist at the end although it was hinted at several times. Great way to wrap up the case.
These books get better with each story. I really enjoyed listening to Susan Ericksen. She has a gift with voices.
This is a series that I highly recommend and look forward to each book.

I second Quirky Quad 😊
Finished my book for this shelf. Review to come soon.

Mercury Striking by Rebecca Zanetti
Series: The Scorpius Syndrome #1
Shelf #1: Sci-Fi Romance (shelved by 13 people)
Read: 5 Feb
Rating: ✮✮✮½
My Review:
Mercury Striking is set in a post-apocalyptic world that's been ravaged by the Scorpius Syndrome, a bacterium which killed 99% of the people who became infected. All survivors of the fever become carriers. Some of the survivors will become one of two types of Ripper, “... The first is organized and intelligent like a serial killer. If one of these attacks you, it’s planned, and they have bad things in mind for you. The second is disorganized and just plain crazy, and they’re more likely to rip you apart like an animal. Run from either.”; some others gain a sort of ability (ie: improved memory, psychic abilities, etc). The latter was mentioned briefly, but could definitely be expanded upon.
“We fear things in direct proportion to our ignorance of them.” ~ Christian Nestell BoveeLynne Harmony was the head of infectious diseases at the CDC prior to the fall and continues a search for a cure. Her search purposefully leads her into Jax Mercury's path for the protection he can offer her. She's wanted by many for various reasons, but with Jax's help she hopes to remain alive long enough to find the cure needed to save those who remain. Jax is the leader of a group of survivors in "Vanguard territory", a part of LA. Up until now, he's ruled more as a protector, yet he's learned little about those in his territory other than what service they can offer the group. Those in his inner circle begin to encourage him to open up more, connect with his people and become a leader not simply a warrior. It's with Lynne that he's finally able to begin to open up a bit.
I always know I can count on a good read when it's written by Rebecca Zanetti. While I liked both Lynne and Jax individually, I think I might enjoy Raze and Vivienne's book (#2, Shadow Falling) a bit more.

Hope y’all have a great day and are enjoying your reads 😊

Week 1: SCI-FI ROMANCE
Secrets in Death J.D. Robb

Review:
It wouldn't kill her.
Eve has finally decided to meet DeWinter for a drink and becomes a witness to the murder of a local gossip queen.
I love the talk that Eve gives herself as she is approaching the bar where she is meeting DeWinter. She has the everything worked out in her mind of how the evening will go. The interaction between the two women is amusing as they are both very tough and focused. The death of Larinda Mars throws them both into work mode.
Larinda Mars was quite a despicable character. She not only dished dirt on TV. She had a lucrative side business going which probably caused her death.
Digging into Larinda's past brought up so many memories for Eve, Roarke and Summerset. I enjoyed the interaction between all of them as they worked through things.
An excellent addition to the series!

Nobody's Ghoul by Devon Monk
Series: Ordinary Magic #8
Shelf: Free Space (on SOS' BEST OF UF list)
Read: 7 Feb
Rating: ✮✮✮✮☆
My Review:
“Trust me that gods are drama queens who always make every little thing about themselves, Chief Reed.”Ordinary seems like such a fun town and I always enjoy diving back into this series. Nobody's Ghoul finds Delaney stressing (AF) over her upcoming (?) nuptials to Ryder (the most patient man).
“Hunters and thieves and ghouls? Yep. Pretty much a normal Thursday night.”On other fronts, the sisters are dealing with a car that fell from the sky, stolen powers, a handsy monster hunter and a ghoul that can take the form of anyone. Oh, and Bertie's on another event planning mission - Look out!
The next installment should be loads of fun - impending war and a wedding. Will the war break out during the wedding? Will the wedding be a double celebration post-war? Will the wedding get bumped because of the war? Can't wait to find out, especially since all the gods have been invited to the wedding.
