Winter (winter9) | 4998 comments Hi everyone!

Time to nominate for April is Creativity.

~Please remember to state a connection to the theme when you nominate.

~Books we have read less than three years ago are not eligble. To see which books are not eligble, see this google sheet:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

~ Each person can nominate 1 book.

~ Book must be available both as a physical copy and as an ebook.

~ Authors: Please do not nominate your own book.

~ Please do not nominate books that are part of a series, unless it is the first book.

~ You can second someone else's nomination, but that will count as your nomination.

This thread will be closed by February 26th, and we will choose ten books for the poll. If there are more than ten books nominated, we will choose "seconded" books first. If there is still a tie to get into the top ten, we'll go back to the Goodreads average rating to see which is highest.

Winter (winter9) | 4998 comments Because the poll creating tool I use couldn't find the book Sean nominated that should have been in the last poll, he has nominated Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne. This book will make it automatically into the poll, and there is no need to second it :)

BookishlyWise | 302 comments I nominate Made to Stick: Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die
All about creative ideas, and how some things become so memorable and go viral! It's a non fiction but it's a very interesting short read. Do check it out :)

Valerie Reyes | 1148 comments Leonora in the Morning Light: A Novel A novel based on the life of artist Leonora Carrington

message 5: by Meghan L (new)

Meghan L | 380 comments I nominate Easy Crafts for the Insane: A Mostly Funny Memoir of Mental Illness and Making Things because creativity is what has kept me from losing it during all the hard times in life.

message 6: by Carmen (last edited Feb 07, 2022 11:09PM) (new)

Carmen | 8125 comments I nominate Death Comes as the End by Agatha Christie
Death Comes as the End by Agatha Christie

If there is a writer whose creativity stands out above that of others, Agatha Christie, undoubtly, takes the cake.
Let's celebrate our year of mystery and her boundless creativity, reading one of her books with a most original plot, set in ancient Egypt, notable for its very high number of deaths and that it is also the first full-length novel combining historical fiction and the whodunit/detective story, a genre which would later come to be called the historical whodunit.

D.L. | 1515 comments I am recommending the first novel in the popular Alex Cross series: Along Came a Spider. Moving at breakneck speed and chockfull of unexpected twists and turns, it could only have come from the prolific James Patterson, an author known for his creativity and the ability to turn just about any subject into an engaging page-turner.

message 13: by SarahKat, Buddy Reads (new)

SarahKat | 6240 comments I'll nominate Cat's Eye by Margaret Atwood.

The first part of the synopsis reads: Returning to the city of her youth for a retrospective of her art, controversial painter Elaine Risley is engulfed by vivid images of the past.

Art/painter = creativity
