This thread is where you can chat about all things PIFM, ask questions and once books have been read, review your selected reads. A complete free for all.

PLEASE NOTE:

PIFM is meant to be FUN and not to be taken seriously. I would appreciate it if all participants just chilled and not get worked up about voting, who votes, who doesn't, etc. Please bear in mind that some will just want to vote, many don't come on everyday and most of us have time constraints. I just want a relaxed approach to it all and for you all to just enjoy the process! I'd really appreciate your courtesy in this matter. Many thanks.

Dana (dkmckelvey) | 623 comments Just put up my votes!

I have never felt the urge to vote for someone to NOT read a book, but I just finished Conviction (Anna and Fin, #1) by Denise Mina on Sophie's list and I haven't disliked a book like I did in so long haha.

message 5: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) That's too bad, Dana. I really enjoyed that one.

Interesting!! I love how books are so different for everyone :)

message 7: by Vicki Willis (new)

Vicki Willis Yes! I love when there is dissention about a book.
It definitely makes me take a look at it.

message 8: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) There doesn't seem to be much dissension in The Fault in Our Stars. Everyone's voting for that one.

message 9: by Vicki Willis (new)

Vicki Willis Such a great book. You will love it.

message 10: by Dana (new)

Dana (dkmckelvey) | 623 comments Haha I haven't read the book in a long time but it definitely left a mark on me - very emotional. You could probably devour it in one day

Oh gosh, well that's torn me!! One of you really liked it and the other really hated it, I might just have to read it to see which one of you I agree with hahahaha

message 12: by Dana (new)

Dana (dkmckelvey) | 623 comments Yes break our tie!! It is an easier read, if that's what you are looking for :)

Patricia Bergman (marshop) | 1229 comments Probably since I posted late, I only have two votes. Both are different so I may just read each and post earlier next time.

Yep! Same. Glad you liked it

message 19: by Vicki Willis (new)

Vicki Willis I finished my March read.
The Basement True Story of Serial Killer Gary Heidnik by R.J. Parker The Basement: True Story of Serial Killer Gary Heidnik
It ended up being a short story and it was a terrible crime, but was so poorly written. The worst thing I have read this year.

Because he's so good. I've read this book a few years ago and still have to think about it from time to time.

I loved Looking for Alaska, but this book is on a whole other level.

Sue | 131 comments So I’ve just finished what was my September PIFM!!! Which was “A Brief History of Seven Killings”, I started it in September & abandoned it, & took real determination to get through it this time. I really don’t recommend it at all 👎👎👎
On the plus side I can start my March reads now

How did you like the Coben book? My father has it and I'm considering to borrow it when I read his other books I have right now.

message 29: by Vicki Willis (new)

Vicki Willis You should borrow it Agnieszka.
I love him! I read that one and rated it 5 stars.

Christine Hatfield (christinesbookshelves) | 5526 comments Agnieszka I really liked the book called The Boy from the Woods by Harlan Coben and Agnieszka you should read all of those Harlan Coben books because they are all really good and Agnieszka I’m a huge fan of Harlan Coben

message 33: by Dana (new)

Dana (dkmckelvey) | 623 comments I am going to read that one too, sounds interesting!

I finished my March pick, Watching You by Lisa Jewell
this is my third Lisa Jewell now in a month and it was my least favorite, just didn't love it.

message 34: by Sophie (new)

Sophie | 1126 comments That's a pity, Dana, as it's on my TBR list. What didn't you love about it?

message 35: by Dana (new)

Dana (dkmckelvey) | 623 comments It was my third book by her in about a month, so compared to those ones the storyline just didn't hook me in! It is still very readable though, I just didn't find it "believable" if that makes sense. It also centered around very unlikeable characters to me :)

Still 3 stars! I really enjoyed her newest book, The Night She Disappeared by Lisa Jewell

message 36: by Vicki Willis (new)

Vicki Willis I have that new one on my TBR so good to know.
