"HOME IS WHERE OUR STORY BEGINS" February Mini Challenge

This is an optional mini challenge for our UNO players. Step by step and brick by brick, build the home of your dreams where you can curl up with a good book and choose the location where you would prefer to settle.

                        

* Build your house
* Interior Design
* Garden and Terrain
* Home and Dry
* Choose your own setting: "A" (I wanna wake up in a city that doesn't sleep) or "B" (Small towns and big dreams)

◈ Every book read, i.e. every task completed, is worth 10 points. Each book can be used for one task only.
◈ Books for tasks can be finished in any order. No need to complete blocks to get the 10 points/book, but if you complete all tasks, your team will receive 40 bonus points.

                        

◈ Books can be started at any point since the start of the UNO challenge (Feb 1)
◈ Books need to be finished after the start of this mini challenge on Feb 14, 9am UTC

◈ Books used for this mini challenge do not need to be separate books from what you are claiming for your UNO hands
◈ The usual book length rules apply
◈ Team spreadsheets will be updated with a mini challenge tab so that you can track your books and claim your points


                        

FEB MINI TASKS:

◈ Build your house

1. Read a book with a building on the cover (can be part of a building or a small one, as long as it's clearly a building)
2. Read a book with (a) muscular man/men on the cover
3. Read a book with a character who is very rich
4. Read a book where a place (house, flat, office, barn etc.) gets renovated or built
5. Read a book with any cargo transport vehicle word in the text (cart, lorry, van, truck etc., plural form is accepted.)
6. Read a book with the letters B*U*I*L*D*E*R in the title (subtitle can be used as well)


◈ Interior Design

7. Read a book with a room interior on the cover (view spoiler)[Examples:

8. Read a book where a character is painting or decorating something
9. Read a book with at least 4 different colours on the cover (percentage does not matter, letters of the title/author count as well)
10. Read a book with two of the five Feng Shui elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, water) in the text (plural form accepted).

For tasks 11-16, every piece of decor or furniture can be used only once. (view spoiler)[Example: Team member A reads for a mirror on cover. This means that you cannot use mirror as a decor object once again, even in a different book. (hide spoiler)]

18. Read a book with one of the 4 cardinal directions or their sub directions in the text (the adjectives are also accepted: North, Northern, Northwest(ern), etc.).
19. Read a book with the letters G*A*R*D*E*N in the title (subtitle can be used as well)
20. Read a book with a tree(s) on the cover
21. Read a book with a flower(s) on the cover OR from this list -Flowers on cover (You can read any edition of the books listed, as long as they meet the usual page/length requirements. If the book listed is part of a series, it can be substituted with any other book from the same series.)
22. Read a book with any word related to the weather in the title or series title (any form is accepted, e.g.: rain(s), rainy, raining, etc.)
23. Read a book from this list -Doors, Portals, Gates (You can read any edition of the books listed, as long as they meet the usual page/ length requirements. If the book listed is part of a series, it can be substituted with any other book from the same series.)
24. Read a book with some kind of road or stairs on the cover (view spoiler)[Examples: (hide spoiler)]


◈ Home and Dry

25. Read a book with the title or series title containing a word of address (e.g.: avenue, alley, road, street, lane, close, square, park, etc)

29. Read a book with a character who is moving to another place (can be just moving house or to a different geographic location)

32. Read a book with a happy ending


For tasks 33-40, discuss which setting your team would prefer: "A" or "B".
You can use any aspect of your book (title, cover, plot, setting, places, characters, activities...) to cover tasks 35-40. Every aspect can be used only once, but feel free to be creative.
