Jennifer | 5 comments YA book told from the viewpoint of two girls. The first is a younger sister who’s older sister disappeared years before. The second view point is told from the perspective of a girl that is essentially locked in a basement (so we think it’s the older sister). But as the book progresses we realize the second POV character is not the missing older sister, but grows up to be a con artist and later poses as the missing older sister.

The younger sister kind of knows all along that she’s an imposter but she actually likes her better than she did her real sister who was very mean to her. And by the end of the book… (BIG SPOILER HERE…….)

we find out that the younger sister saw her older sister die and never told anyone because it was kind of her fault… but not really. So, she helps the imposter convince everyone else she is the missing sister and they live happily ever after.

I’m thinking I read this around 2016-2019 maybe but I don’t know if it was newly released when I read it.

Ringing any bells for anyone?
