The title really captures the feeling of so many horror movies I've watched 😂
My library doesn't have the ebook but at least it's on Kindle unlimited. I'm in for this one for sure.

I am very interested in trying this book out. I'm currently reading Lullaby, but should be able to start this one in the next couple days. I always love when I'm able to join in a group read, although I'm not always able to work it out logistically much of the time.

With a title like this, I hope there is a fair amount of snark!

I just started this today on my lunch break and I'm already 20% in (which is a nice break from some of the longer books I've read recently).

The humor feels mildly forced but I'm enjoying how FAST the action kicks in. Is it bad I relate to Damien? 😂

Edit: (view spoiler)[ Damien is absolutely annoying, and a bit condescending. But, kind of a weird kid with a mom who isn't really interested in him (or outright hostile)? Hits me in a soft spot I guess. The characters are overall extreme stereotypical tropes though, which is not appealing in the slightest. (hide spoiler)]

I agree completely Netanella. He is too obnoxious.

I'm at 35% and starting to feel underwhelmed.
(view spoiler)[I'm not sure why so many haunted house books need the cliché of an overwrought and (constantly) tearful wife saying the house is haunted while her unbelieving husband tells her she's just tired or stressed.
I hate this trope. It's so overdone it's just lazy (hide spoiler)]

I'm around 32% in and even tho I'm pretty sure this is not gonna be a Top read for me, it's still super fast paced and very entertained for now.
Also, I agree with some of you, Damien is a lil sh*t.

i'm about 30% in and digging the direction of the book so far. absolutely agree about damien being a shit, but his antics have been cracking me up thus far. hope karma catches up to the little turd, lol.

I'm at 50% now, and I feeling much better about it. The family may be a bit annoying but house is getting badass. Looking forward to more darkness.

Lindsay, I hope I didn't make you feel bad with my death wish for Damien. Probably went a little overboard there, however.

I do have to agree that the characters are feeling very much like stereotypes. I hope that the stereotypes of the overwrought mom and the "creepy bad/misunderstood good" son get a little more character development.

Or maybe, the house will eat both of them! 😂

The story has taken a decidedly sharp turn to the left into Twilight Zone / Outer Limits territory. I'm enjoying it a lot better now. The house is definitely eating the family members.
