Here is a place for us to continue our buddy reads of the Nightmareland Chronicles, with Lullaby, the second book in the series.

The read will go on for the month of March, and hopefully lead to us reading the next book in April.

Please be careful of spoilers when posting!

Rachel, boy do I ever get the "overbooking" problem!

I should be starting around March 1st as well.

I'll for sure be joining around the 1st of the month too. Trying to not overbook March quite as badly as I did February. We'll see how that goes.

I still have a couple books to finish in February, and one novella to start AND finish! LOL! I am planning on this one though!!

Thank you so much Char, I will be joining for sure, just got myself a copy, and its under 100 pages so short and sweet, well maybe not exactly *sweet*...

I also made February a month to remember since I read seven 500+ page books in February for my one month mini-challenge "short Month, Long Book" challenge. On the plus side, I removed several books that have been sitting on my TBR list for ages, but the down side to that is I did not read much else.
Ah well, March is a new month and a new challenge: "Is Audible Worth it" where I will be deciding if I want to keep my Audible subscription or not, by doing a deep dive into their "included" selections on Audible Plus. Anyways, it should leave me time to actually read more books. First Up, Lullaby!

Good luck with your foray into Audible Plus. I sometimes find good things there, but I've only recently noticed that items come in and out of the Plus catalog and your library. I've had 3 Audible Plus audios removed from my library this month because they were removed from Plus. :(

A little bit, but I don't watch much TV. I read a lot. I probably could have squeezed one more in this month, but decided to just relax.

I will have to say that Lily (Nightmareland Chronicles #6) is one of the most beautiful covers I have ever seen.

So I just finished, and..... Wow! There was so much tension in this Novella. (view spoiler)[When John breaks, he breaks HARD! (hide spoiler)]



I may not be able to wait an entire month to read the next novella.

We all know Mariah is pregnant and the novella was called "Lullaby" and the cover is so flesh-toned. I just assumed it was pregnant belly. I never even though of it being a moon in the sky until I saw the enlarged version. But Daniel you're right, since this part of the story mostly deals with (view spoiler)[ Mariah coming to terms with her pregnancy (hide spoiler)] the cover does work either way.

And just like at the end of the first one, I’m (view spoiler)[ no closer to knowing what’s going on! I do lean towards the supernatural a lot more now than anything scientific. I had started leaning towards the pole shift when we learned that the sun was shining elsewhere in the world, but then again, how reliable is that news… (hide spoiler)]

Also, Daniel, I definitely like the author’s notes at the end of these first two parts. They added to story I thought.

I have one arc I need to finish up, and then this one is up--I can't wait! Avoiding all spoilers! :D

I’m glad! I wanted them to reward the readers who happened to read them, at least a little.

Finally some quiet around the house so I'm about to grab my copy and read, glad to be back in this exquisite prose.

Sally, you have the beautiful paperbacks too right?! <3 funny too the moment I read Daniel's message my possum friend turned up on and was picked out by the outdoor motion sensor lighting and I haven't seen her in a few days, she looked a bit pregnant too, ha spring! Good timing :) Princess Lullaby while I read Lullaby. So fitting.

I love opossums! Glad she came back. They are wonderful creatures and eat all the nasty bugs around your area. We have a ton up here in the PNW.

Lol! I'm sorry for all the possum stories I will stop haha but I read a comment on a YT video once, the gentleman said he leaves his garage door open and has a box in there for possums, he also said they found a blanket in the garage and managed to cover themselves to they could sleep under it. Wish I could leave my garage open for the same! I find people and bad intentions scarier than critters, for the most part.

Even in Lullaby, the scariest thing is still people, and how only some remain in control of their minds and emotions.. that's what I love/hate about dystopian stories, the world can be ending from some cataclysmic event and its still mostly people hurting each other, because I can see that being true.

Im a fan of the animal stories, lol. Love the wildlife. Yeah, my story is from quite a while ago. We don’t make it a habit to leave our garage door open either as there have been break-ins in the neighborhood in recent years. Even had the police who were just patrolling knock on my door at 2:00 am after my son left it open getting home late last year. My dogs loved that!

You’re right about the people hurting people though. I’m really a much bigger fan of stories about other things vs people, but this certainly has some other circumstances involved, lol.

Yeah, I totally agree! I'm also leaning towards the (view spoiler)[supernatural more since all the electronic devices are becoming possessed by this creepy kid.

I read this yesterday and it was a wonderful experience. Saturday was a really tough day for me due to personal things going on. But yesterday, after attending a baby shower, I came home and it was actually warm enough to sit outside in the sun. When I started the book there was a ton of snow in my backyard. By the time I finished, almost all the snow had melted while I was reading.

(view spoiler)[ OMG the plane scenes! Yes. Very affecting. When she was seeing those visions of what happened on the plane, what was that about? Was that just a vivid imagination or was it part of this ...thing that is happening to everyone? And who is this boy singing lullabies. Will John be okay? What's going on with these radios and televisions that are working without even having any power going to them?
I really like Marcos and Mariah is kicking some major ass, except for forgetting the car jack. (hide spoiler)]
