Amaryllis tilted her head, thinking. She did not think her husband fully understood what Lia wanted. If she was a researcher, and had come from afar to survey their land, one pebble was not going to be enough. The problem was - how much was she willing to part with? Anthony was right; they did not wish to disrupt the harmony of her kingdom, as fragile as it was with the multitude of imminent threats lurking.

"Anthony, dear. I think the creature wants much more than just one pebble."

Her attention was brought back to Lia, and her promise of not wishing to damage anything. Knowledge. To the Queen, that held a very different connotation to what she knew the creature was referring to. Knowledge, as she had come to learn as a Royal, was the key to power - and winning a War. She knew that Lia didn't know that though - coming from the humble and innocent background she had seemed to come from. Amaryllis knew what that felt like. Her mind that turned to what Lia had first said.

Protection. Amaryllis had not intended to let her extend an offer of assistance - but now that she thought about it, perhaps having a foreigner to show off would help their position in the world. But the problem was whether to reveal the secret of strange beings on their planet. When would be the best time? She bit her lip, contemplating this in her mind, not offering Lia a verbal answer at this moment. She had to admit, she was interested. And however much she didn't want to admit - she needed Lia. Maybe she was an answered prayer from Volatia; the answer to all her problems. Amaryllis knew there was more to the woman than could be seen at first glance, and she intended to find out what it was. If she proved herself trustworthy, well then, the Queen could allow her to be revealed to the other Kingdoms.

She can not be the only one of her kind. It made no sense for her to be. What is the others had gone to the other Kingdoms? An exasperated sigh escaped the Queen's mouth, and she turned away from everyone, before meeting Modira's eyes. Was this a curse or a blessing sent by the gods? Realising that all she could do was sit and wait, she lifted her head up and composed herself once again.

"Modira. Take her to the servant's quarters. I want you to sleep in the same bedroom as her. I will have three guards stationed outside."

Her breath was slightly shaky, hoping, praying that she was not making a bad decision. She then turned to Lia, her fists curling into a ball, and her power manifesting in the form of vines growing from the tips of her fingers, the green extending out and brushing the floor. They continued growing until they reached where the creature stood, only just caressing the leather of her boots, the thorns sharp enough to scratch the surface. The Queen hoped that was enough of a show of power, enough to make her think twice if she was to cause trouble.

"I would like to remind you that there will be dire consequences if we are to find you doing anything against our Kingdom or anybody in it."

She let the warning hang in the air for a few moments, before turning back to Modira, waving her hand to dismiss them both. Her fatigue had left her by now, and she desperately intended to see Lia alone the next morning, planning to use the night to prepare what she would tell her.
