The Procrastinators Book Club discussion

Welcome to the The Last Chance Library Buddy Read Discussion thread! This thread officially opens on March 2nd and anyone can join at any time. Please keep in mind that spoilers are allowed in this thread but only up to the group's current reading place. Do not spoil the book if you've read further than the group. Any extra days can be used to catch up!

Each day we will be reading by chapters or page numbers. Page numbers are an approximation based on the hardcover or paperback that is the default on Goodreads. The suggested Buddy Read discussion schedule is as follows:

March 02: Chapters 1-8

Chapter 5 (view spoiler)[ Ok nitpicky but Game of Thrones books makes no sense... A Game of Thrones is the first book and it's then name of the TV show but the book series is called A Song of Ice and Fire ....also why would that be associated with being a loser? Sigh

Also if you're a librarian how have you not heard of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies - it was pretty popular (though I haven't read it myself) so surely you'd have heard of it even if it's not a genre you'd usually read?

What do you like about the book or dislike? I'm up for hearing any or both 😃

I’ve got to about Chapter 10 so far - I reckon it’s a bit slow to start - so far I’m not feeling terribly invested.

Also the MC seems like kind of a book snob ?

I'm not surprised you are not much invested, otherwise you would've sped through it 😂 Hopefully it gets better, and the MC drops her snobbishness or tons it down at least.

I can say that things get more investing in chapter 12. It was a little one note and plodding until then for me. Chapter 12 had me going " did she just...?"
And it gets better and wilder after that. At least so far. I'm definitely on pace at this point but I am now interested in seeing where this goes. Hopefully more self-esteem....

Ooo I’ll try to continue today - that sounds promising

So I caught up and finished it - somehow this was just alright to me. It did get a bit better but I still didn't fall in love with it.

What did you think?

It thought it was alright as well. Not phenomenal, but entertaining. I did like the resolution at the end re: the library and Stanley, but the romance portion of it felt dropped.
