Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) Does anyone know what happened to the group reads threads. I can't find the one for Edward VI anymore (I may be just missing it) and I don't see one so far for Innocent Traitor. Am I missing something?

Jennifer (jennifertudor) | 951 comments There's no group reads folder but the thread for Edward is under Tudor Book Recommendations but you have to go to view all or view more topics (I forget which one).

I don't think one has been started yet for Innocent Traitor.

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) Sorry - didn't mean to push. See you are so good you have us all spoiled. I wondered if you were gone, haven't seen any posts for a while. Where did you go? I hope it was fun.

Colleen (nightoleander) | 1106 comments Well thank you Lyn, it seems like I leave for a week or two and you guys are going crazy without me! lol j/k (or maybe not *wink*) You aren't pushing, but I feel like I have a lot of catching up to do including a three page letter that was looooong overdue to my dear Jennifer!

Colleen (nightoleander) | 1106 comments Oh, I was at an out of state wedding and was gone for a week. When I came back our house hold goods were here finally so i have been unpacking and stting up my library. Joy of joys, I do love me some organizing!

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) As I said in the other thread, I sure have missed you. You are my idol. I want a library with beautiful wood shelves with brass plates. AHH Dream on.

Two weeks overdue :)
Glad you're back too Colleen but you know that.

Paula | 85 comments Wasn't sure where to post my comment, so hope it's ok to revive a thread that hasn't been used in awhile.

For the upcoming April group read, I love that so many non-queens are getting votes. I feel as though I have a basic enough understanding of the queens to start and want to continue learning more about the other players.

Here are my one-word thoughts on the queens:
Katherine of Aragon - stately
Anne of Boleyn - seductive
Jane Seymour - saintly
Anne of Cleves - stoic
Katherine Howard - silly
Catherine Parr - stewardess

I would like to feel the same basic understanding for others now as there is so much to learn :)

Jennifer (jennifertudor) | 951 comments Paula, I love your 6 S's :)
They're good descriptions of the Queens and it's always welcome when old threads are revived so thanks!

I agree... it's good to learn more about the rest of the women from the time period. Some of them seem to have stories as interesting, if not more interesting, than the Queens themselves.

Beth | 13 comments Paula, I also agree with your S's. That's the way I've always thought of the wives.

My computer is acting very strangely. At this time I cannot access any sites that are enclosed with e-mails.
So, I was unable to vote in your poll for the September read. I will read whatever is picked, as long as I haven't already read it.

message 15: by Jennifer, Mod #5 (new)

Jennifer (jennifertudor) | 951 comments Right now we are just voting on the person. Is there one that you would prefer? I can count your vote in the results. The choices are Mary Stuart (Mary, Queen of Scots), Mary Tudor (Henry VIII's sister), Thomas More, Margaret Tudor, Anne Boleyn, Dr. John Dee, Catherine of Aragon, Mary Tudor (Henry VIII's daughter), Elizabeth Tudor, Robert Dudley, Henry VII, Anne of Cleves, Henry VIII, Katherine Parr and Jane Seymour.

Katherine Totten (katherine42) Henry VII

Did you vote on the poll?

annie (tellsnoemotion) | 147 comments Jane Seymour!

message 21: by Jennifer, Mod #5 (new)

Jennifer (jennifertudor) | 951 comments LOL Okay everyone, I need you to vote on the poll, not on here unless you tell me you can't for some reason.

message 22: by Debbie (new)

Debbie Hoffman | 5 comments what thread is the poll on?

message 23: by annie (new)

annie (tellsnoemotion) | 147 comments Whoops, sorry Jennifer! I'll try to find the actual poll.

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) To vote on the poll go to the top of the page and click on the word poll on the right side of the page.

message 25: by Jennifer, Mod #5 (new)

Jennifer (jennifertudor) | 951 comments That's okay! Sorry for the confusion :)

message 26: by Aly (new)

Aly (Alygator) | 854 comments hey all.... are we going to be doing a group read for November/December?

message 27: by Darbus, Mod #2 (new)

Darbus | 93 comments I'm guessing not everyone has seen the (rather late) poll for the November/December group read, so I'm posting to direct people to that. At this point, though, I'm wondering if we want to make it December/January to give people the same amount of time.

message 28: by Jennifer, Mod #5 (new)

Jennifer (jennifertudor) | 951 comments I guess we're all sort of slacking on this, huh? Sorry everyone... what do you all want to do?

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) Well, the December/January is set to go for History of Royals, and I know at one time we were trying to stagger them. Not sure.

Seems to me we could either:

1. Not stagger then and have them both start the same time

2. Skip the GR for this group this time, and have the next one for January/February.

I am okay with either.

message 30: by Jennifer, Mod #5 (new)

Jennifer (jennifertudor) | 951 comments I go for skipping personally but whatever everyone wants. I just noticed that there's a poll for John Dee going now so we can vote now but read it in January... or have a super extended GR lasting 4 months lol. I'm good with whatever... I know that I won't be able to fit in another one this year either way but I'll get to it... someday :P

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) At this point, I think skipping is a good idea, too, but that is just me, lol.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2166 comments I'd be inclined to skip, but am open either way.

message 33: by Darbus, Mod #2 (new)

Darbus | 93 comments I think keeping them staggered is a good idea, so my vote is also with skip.

message 34: by Colleen, Mod #3 (new)

Colleen (nightoleander) | 1106 comments I just set up the John Dee book for Dec/Jan as it seems that was the final decision made. Looks like I am not the only Mod that took a massive break! lol ;)

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) I thought we decided to skip and make it Jan/Feb because the History of Royals was Dec/Jan? Did I misunderstand?

message 36: by Colleen, Mod #3 (new)

Colleen (nightoleander) | 1106 comments No, I guess I did! Sorry for the confusion Lyn.

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) I saw that you changed it. No worries.

message 38: by Colleen, Mod #3 (new)

Colleen (nightoleander) | 1106 comments Actually Jen caught it and changed it, *giggle* that's what I get for being away so long then trying to catch up on the threads too fast!

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) Hey it is all confusing to me.

message 40: by Colleen, Mod #3 (new)

Colleen (nightoleander) | 1106 comments Mod work is hard sometimes darn it! lol

message 41: by Darbus, Mod #2 (new)

Darbus | 93 comments I know, it's (*gasps*) responsibility! Yeah, I'm not as good with that as I should be.

message 42: by Colleen, Mod #3 (new)

Colleen (nightoleander) | 1106 comments I am when I have the time and the drive. Of course how often does one have both? lol

Lyn (Readinghearts) (lsmeadows) If you are me, it is about every two months or so, lol.
