Kate S | 6459 comments Read a book with dual timeline.
For examples, see https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/...

Please post any questions/comments/suggestions about task 10.9 in this thread.

Deedee | 2281 comments I'm almost finished with The Actual Star and it has THREE timelines, "braided" in alternating chapters, set in: 1012, 2012 and 3012. Would three timelines fit? Or must it be restricted to two?

Yes, multiple timelines work for this task. I see you posted it, and I'm glad you didn't wait. ;-)

Lagullande | 1131 comments Do the timelines have to relate to separate characters?

I think not. I see some on Tien's list of suggestions that have the same characters.

Excellent. Thank you, Elizabeth.

Marie (mariealex) | 1098 comments I maybe am twisting this, but would a book where time travel appears (even briefly) work ?

I am re-reading the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde, for instance on Something Rotten, most of the setup is 1988, but on one chapter Thursday travels back to the Battle of Trafalgar (1805).

I think that works! Enjoy!

Owlette | 711 comments What if the epilogue is set several generations beyond the rest of the book as in In the Field of Grace by Tessa Afshar? Would that work? The epilogue is as long as a chapter and has new characters discussing their ancestors which were the main characters in the prior part of the book.

I don't think this works. But it works for other tasks! Her given name is 5-letters, so works for 10.4, and see from her bio below that she works for 20.7 also!

"Tessa was born in the Middle East and lived there for the first fourteen years of her life. She then moved to England, where she survived boarding school for girls and fell in love with Jane Austen and Charlotte Bronte, before moving to the United States permanently."

Owlette | 711 comments Thanks, Elizabeth (Alaska). It also works for Cake points and small town (Bethlehem B.C.) and I'm going to post it now!
