Lol
So funny!

just wanted to let you know I'm back. I followed some of the discussions over the last month and have to admit I missed you all.

Welcome back Agnieszka!

I have collected way too many things over the years. There are still boxes to open. Have discovered goodies that I had totally forgotten I had owned. Moving is quite an adventure.

I'm getting some bits and pieces of information but all in all am avoiding news for almost two years now. I try to concentrate on the more uplifting aspects and living in central Germany the war is far away there're no immediate effects on us yet. I hope it will stay this way and the people of Ukraine will vanquish this attempt on their freedom soon.

I have two of those as well. Fałszerz (The Deceiver) and The Truth Teller changed positions three times already. I'm curious which one will win.

you've done it well. If you want to vote for others' books you can do it in the thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... though you don't have to if you'd rather take it slow in the beginning. You'll find there what we picked for you as well.
I love the cutie in your avatar picture.

All of us had to start somewhere :-D

You have some great books on your list. It was rather difficult to make a decision between my two favorites :-D

Don't forget to vote, Sarah!!

Because of such a strong recommendation I changed my vote to It Ends with Us now.

I am now going to start "Easy Prey" by John Sanford which is the 1st choice. I have really enjoyed his other books so am looking forward to this one.

I haven't read November 9th, but it is on my list. Maybe I will put it in the next voting page.

I'm so glad you liked this book as I put in on my watch list after seeing it between your books.
Does quilting have a prominent role in this book or is it rather maginal? I'm still looking for interesting quilting themed books for the third part of the quilting challenge :-D

Yes, it is centered around the quilters in Paducah. The quilt museum houses the winners of Quilt Week and the first place winner receives $20,000. The sponsors are fabric, sewing machine, and a variety of other manufacturers. You would probably enjoy the book if you are a quilter or just like a good mystery.

Thank you!

I’ve just ordered a couple of roses which I will plant in a bed by my patio that gets the evening sun so I will have lovely scents to sit & read by. You can get roses that will grow in tubs for your balcony Sophie

That sounds great, especially the fragrance choices. I chose only fragrant roses for my garden since I like to have some in vases in the house.

A window seat would be amazing! I've always rather liked the idea of a rocking chair by a window or a large comfy armchair. It might be my next purchase.
The roses sound fabulous, Patricia. My home is full of daffodils at the moment, which smell lovely. I don't think I'll have room to plant roses on my balcony, unless I went for climbers - which could be a possibility...

Sorry can't help, I'm still for Dark Voyge (even if I was willing to consider changing my vote :-D)
Worst case you could try to roll the dice (with even numbers for one of the books and odd for the other *grins*)

Or you use https://www.random.org/dice/?num=1 (pre-set for one die, if you want more you can change it in the address field) I got a four if that helps :-D

Not my favourite Lisa Jewell but a good read. I think I read too many of hers in a row.

Fałszerz=The Deceiver by Frederick Forsyth 3* 6/1 - it wasn't one story but four interconnected by the MC set over a period of seven years (1983-1990) each with a long, slow build-up and short ending full of action (for the first three). Additional issues for me:
- much too much (unnecessary) swearing
- the publisher decided to give each of the four parts to a different translator which created four different styles - I wan't fond of the first three, the last one was ok.
Until the very end I was ambivalent with the MC, he was as much likeable as off-putting - which is realistic but not very entertaining.
I doubt I'll read another book by this author, though could be swayed if I see another one on my father's shelf (they are all Polish translation and I need all the contact with my mother tongue I can get)

PLEASE NOTE:
PIFM is meant to be FUN and not to be taken seriously. I would appreciate it if all participants just chilled and not get worked up about voting, who votes, who doesn't, etc. Please bear in mind that some will just want to vote, many don't come on everyday and most of us have time constraints. I just want a relaxed approach to it all and for you all to just enjoy the process! I'd really appreciate your courtesy in this matter. Many thanks.
