Sandi (sandin954) | 1276 comments Hi all,

Here are my February reads:

Top Read

The Night Manager - John le Carré
The Cold War is over and arms dealers are making the most of it during the run up to the first Gulf War. This was densely plotted but had great characterizations and the narration of the audio by David Case was very good.

Good Reads

The Penguin Pool Murder - Stuart Palmer
First book in the series featuring school teacher Hildegarde Withers and published in 1931, this was fairly enjoyable though a bit dated in spots.

The Dark Root - Archer Mayor
Lt. Joe Gunther's small Vermont town is rocked by an Asian gang which is trying to take over the criminal activity on the border between the states and Canada. More violence than I usually expect from this series but still a worthwhile read.

Greenwich Park - Katherine Faulkner
A nicely done debut suspense tale with some annoying and unlikable characters but with an engrossing plot. Listened to the audio version which was narrated by Laura Kirman.
