Got to have a romantic element to it.

if you haven't read yet, i recommend the acotar series. specifically the second book in which the main character struggles greatly, and the one person that understands her throughout it also struggles. it is not as cut and dry as trauma bonding, but the story does deal greatly with trauma suffering, and strength from it. acotar is definitely spicy & overall more than just that, but i really felt comfort for it in that aspect!

still beating by jennifer hartmann. it was a work of art.
