Sam Starrett and Alyssa Locke are both struggling in silence with their feelings for each other. He’s trying to honor her request to forget about their one-night encounter and she’s fighting hard to forget him. But at each professional encounter, they’re constantly sniping at each other. What’s really going on?

Neither one is willing to let go completely the prejudgments each holds about the other.

Neither one of them wants to admit their true feeling, and they are both afraid of what will happen if they do.

Sam is convinced Alyssa only sees him as a stereotype and it makes him sad, angry and frustrated. She thinks he doesn’t have the ability to share the same feelings she has and is worried about her career. Neither is willing to be vulnerable with the other so it’s the same encounter over and over again.

These two really just needed to sit down and discuss their issues rather than allowing their prejudices and misconceptions to dictate their actions.

To be honest, there were times when I really disliked Alyssa's treatment of Sam - he did not deserve some of the really nasty comments she made.
