The plane carrying Gina Vitagliano and her band mates is highjacked and she pretends to be Karen Crawford, the US Senator’s daughter, knowing she missed the flight. Was telling the highjackers that information an option? What might have been the repercussions?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments I would have preferred it if she would have told the hijackers that Karen missed the plane up front, but I have no idea what they would have done. Since the endgame was to blow the plane anyway it may not have made any difference.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments It felt right to me. Gina was brave to do so. If they knew Karen wasn't on the plane, the hijackers didn't have any reason to keep the hostages alive. She saw them hurt other passengers.

Those hijackers had an endgame and I think it could have been even worse if she hadn’t pretended to be Karen. They may have executed passengers one by one until the SEALs got there.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1808 comments The point here was to highlight Gina's strength and self-sacrifice.

As the terrorists' aim was to eventually blow up the plane after getting attention, they would probably not have believed GIna and would have begun killing passengers.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I believe the hijackers would not have believed Gina if she told them that Karne wasn't onboard the plane. They would have started killing passengers right away.
