Jackie Rose | 7 comments I’ve been dying to find other people to talk about this book with, I want to hear what others thought of the book but particularly Verity’s letter!

Marisa !!!!SPOILER ALERT!!!!

Honestly, I definitely think that letter was some type of cover up obviously. Like she definitely 1000000% wrote the manuscript. But she tried to cover her tracks by writing that letter. I’m glad that Lowen never showed Jeremy and never planned to. I honestly hated Verity the entire book and knew she was faking it.

I totally agree! I found it a little unsettling that Lowen didn’t care that Jeremy had not only already read the manuscript but also tried to kill Verity. She still left with him without a second thought.

I also thought her sleep walking would be a bigger part of the plot.

taylor swift | 2 comments I’m definitely team manuscript some things in the letter just don’t add up because even Jeremy said Verity didn’t really interact with Harper

(SPOILERS)

i think the letter was fake honestly. it all felt like a long list of excuses for her actions.. the manuscript was so horrendous and disturbing and i cant see how a mother could write that about her children if it wasn’t completely true.

i can totally see where people who are team letter are coming from tho :)

Courtney (liveloveread87) I'm so glad that I'm not the only one thinking this!

I lay there for at least an hour after finishing the book thinking about the letter. I decided that I don't think any mother would be able to write such horrible things about their kids, even if it were "creative writing practice." at least for me, there is no way I could ever say the things she did.

The letter was definitely just a desperate cover-up.

🍸🐆💋🎱📸 | 21 comments definitely fake, plus her agent said to “be the villain” so she actually did all those things.

linne (warners version) (linned1406) | 25 comments most definitely team manuscript

Amal (floralamal) Hello everyone :)

I just finished reading Verity today and I’m conflicted. I think I believe the letter and I’m disturbed that Lowen chose not to say anything about it especially since Jeremy lied about the manuscript and also killed Verity so easily, it’s scary. Reading through everyone’s comments though, l’m starting to believe the reasoning that no mom could write those terrible things about her kids so the manuscript must be real. I’m really not sure, but I loved reading this book

Alds ♡ (aldsinwonderland) | 153 comments 60% team manuscript and 40% team letter. either way, all of them are honestly fucked up.

hadley_mc (bookobsessedidiot) | 11 comments i think that the letter was an attempted coverup for all of the cruelty directed towards her kids. because if it was not a coverup how did chastin get that scar?
- i also think that it was not okay for lowen to destroy the letter, she should have shown jeremy. it would have brought up some conflicted feelings because he just killed her but destroying it was not the right thing to do. it’s super selfish
- lowen also JUST WATCHED JEREMY KILL HIS WIFE and she goes off with him without another thought
- i think he overall is a good guy but that kind of was a psycho move and he overreacted. they could have at least just turned her in to the police

dylan | 9 comments oh my god i just finished this book a couple days ago and wow i love it. i’m honestly torn between team letter and team manuscript because verity is a successful and talented writer so the letter could easily be true and the manuscript be a writing technique but she’s also clearly very manipulative, having faked her injuries after a while so it could just as easily be the other way around where the manuscript is actually true and the letter is just a cover up.
