Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

From what I understand, Kindle ebooks were first invented/launched in 2007. I've seen GR Kindle book records with pulication year set to older than that, which must be bad data from the original source.

Should such Kindle records be corrected, and if yes what would the best-practise Edition Publication Date be? Jan 1, 2007? Or date when the Kindle record was imported to GR? Or other?

I would tend to leave the pub date blank, without more information. Sometimes more info is available, though.

Thank you for your advise, and good to know deleting the imported Kindle edition pub date can be ok in those cases.
