Starting this book tonight 😊
End of Ch 3Im enjoying it so far, loving Jess as mc also her friendships with Bells and Emma are lovely.
The world building too, how set in future and disasters caused some people to start showing abilities. Also how lots of tech is supposed to be locked away in museum, like films and tv - its all holograms and new gadgets.
Curious to see how her work goes and is she develops any powers. The diverse cast is great too and lgbt+ rep which love to see! Although this does seems somewhat predictable in areas, I kind of can live with that as usual for superheroe/villain types.
about 1/4 throughI am also absolutely adoring the world building. Right at the beginning it confused me a little bit now I really like how it's set up and how it explains the onset of superpowers.
I feel like it uses a lot of tropes but also I'm not mad about it because they're super fun and cute!
I also loved her and her friends they have such a fun dynamic and also I'm like 👀 to see the repercussions if Emma finally figures out Bells' feelings! Also her brother fawning over Bells was hilarious!
Ok so I'm gonna put my predictions out there and ig we'll see if I'm even close when we get further into the book.So the guy (Barry?) in the elevator is definitely chameleon right like since the jacket disappeared and everything but also I feel like chameleon is Bells

I haven't made much progress yet. But I'm already presuming Bells is Chameleon, based on his reaction to Emma. Seems fitting too with the fact he changes his hair daily etc... So would be predictable.Also thinking the lady she met outside before going in, is Abby? Based on like the hair style and familarity such mentioned, but may be too obvious.
I am hoping to read more the weekend as I kind of just lost track of time this week 😂
True! I totally forgot about the way he reacted too. If he isn't chameleon, either they made some borderline magic hair dye in the future or man's hair is FRIED 😂Maybe, the description of them both is definitely super similar. At first I was thinking maybe its her mom and they have a really strong resemblance but I think it could also be Abby.
Totally understandable! Today is really the first day all week that I've had time to sit down and read.
End of Ch 6So I may have spoiled myself by looking at next book synopsis, but oh well 😂
It does seems very obvious Bells is Chameleon by all his style chances and disappearing acts doing lately. So I think Barry just a discuise of his.
Also M clearly abby as only see one without the other, Abbys nots and rushing around - M reaction the comments about Abby.
But it it a very young read so i kind of like that its rather predictable, lighthearted and sweet. While handling great rep too, I loved Jess asking of pronouns and such.
Oh dear then I will wait to finish this one before checking out the next because I'm so nosy I know I'll spoil myself too 😂Yeah I kinda figured that since it was suggested in the book synopsis that Abby and M are the same person and it was just a bit of the audience knows more than the characters comedy for stuff like Jess talking about her crust on Abby to M.
It's definitely predictable but I'm also not saying that in a bad way because then we get to enjoy the story but also don't have to think about the on page plot and we can sit back and look at the other messages it's sending, like the asking of pronouns and SPOILERS FOR UP TO 71% (view spoiler)

Oh thats true I forgot the synopsis, but makes a lot of sense then. I kind of love the predictability and knowing ahead of time, its fun but also seems very obvious so strange that Jess wouldn't figure out.
I agree I'm enjoying how rather lighthearted and easy to read, while also exploring important themes and topics. The way Jess noticed about the documents and how event shad been changed in text, the government setting the stage for what they want people to see. I'm with you completely, its done in such an incredible way and flows perfectly with the story & world building.
Im adoring how sweet Jess & Abby are together, their romance is so cute. The obvious crushing, embarassment and awkward as they figure each other out. Just lovely to see their relationship grow and feelings shown 😊
Loving the plot too and introduction of more in depth arc, with the disappeances of villains and the cover ups.
End of book OK I really enjoyed the book and I'm looking forward to the next few because I really wanna see how this resolves!
I loved how when Emma found out about everything she was just like yeah that's cool that y'all have superpowers and she just went on with her day.
Jess and Abby are so adorable together!!! It was so funny when Jess finally put it all together that she was talking about Abby with M so much.
