Stacy (missmcstace) | 268 comments I just noticed that some people have a thread for organising their reading and I realised I could really use one. I hope nobody minds if I collect my thoughts and victims here. 😆

🎗 = Indicates a series I will re-read as it has been so long since I read the last one. Some of these, I'm not even sure how many books I have read in that series. 😆

🎀 = Indicates a new series this year. (Mostly due to my road trip and many other challenges.) 🤔

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Hi Stacy. Welcome to the serial killer space! 😎

I see some great series on your list. Some I have read and many I have not seen before.

I love Wallander! I think I have finished up to book #8. I just started the Walt Longmire series.

I enjoyed Amelia Peabody immensely, along with the Patrick O’Brian books (Aubrey and Maturin). I also loved Rizzolli and Iles.

message 16: by Stacy (last edited Apr 04, 2022 05:53PM) (new)

Stacy (missmcstace) | 268 comments Thank you Cherie! 🙂

This is only the start of my list I'm afraid lol, I have many more books in my house and on my kindle that need organising. I have a terrible habit of buying them, because I know I will need them later...
I think I will do much better with a list, I actually got some series finished when we did the challenge in 2015. I just had a look at Walt Longmire, looks like it might be fun! It seems like we have a few series in common. I do really like the crime and mystery ones.
I read quite a few of Patrick O'Brian's books years ago, before I was on Goodreads. I'm not sure how many, so I'm going to read them all again 🤣

message 17: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Good luck with the list. :o) I have them and mostly keep them updated. Unfortunately, I buy books and forget to update things.

It took me about 5 years to read all of O'Brien's books because they were very popular and the wait times for the audiobooks (initially on CDs) were long. My library has expanded their audiobook purchases and there are many more series to choose from. I am enjoying re-discovering Robert B. Parker's series in audiobook. I originally read them as paperbacks.

message 18: by Stacy (last edited Apr 06, 2022 11:29AM) (new)

Stacy (missmcstace) | 268 comments Thank you, it will probably take a couple of weeks to find all the books that need to be on here lol.
It's good that your library has more choice for you, I'm quite lucky that we have a few library branches near me and I also like traipsing around charity shops for my books. I'm terrible on my Kindle, if they have a sale, I grab so many!
I definitely think my book piles would reduce if I didn't re-read old favourites so often, but some series are just that good! 😀

message 19: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I agree about series books. I reread many books over and over too.
I have been trying to reduce my book buying over the last couple of years, but it is a loosing battle.

message 20: by Stacy (new)

Stacy (missmcstace) | 268 comments Well, if you ever figure out how to reduce book buying Cherie, please let me know lol. I went out today and came back with more books again. I believe I have no self control with my reading. Although, I did pick up a first in a crime series, Cold Granite which looks really good. I've never heard of this author 🤔 📚

Stacy (missmcstace) | 268 comments Oh, I didn't see this Janice. I'm sorry. I hope you're doing a whole lot better now?

I'm wondering, has anyone else got the same problem I have? These lists keep getting longer, not shorter. I have to try and stop using firsts for challenges - grrrr!

I needed a book based in a library - started Pendergast.
I needed an award winning romance with buttons on the cover - started Bridgertons lol 😆

I'm making progress, but it's slow. I have a lot of first in series too, but I'm getting good at deciding I don't need to continue on in the series unless the first book is really good.
