Russell | 80 comments This was a beautifully designed graphic novel. A work of art in itself. I knew the name Andy Warhol, but I didn’t know much about his life or his work beyond the basics. I enjoyed getting to learn about him. I felt this book captured perfectly the emotion of feeling alone in a crowded room. Andy, constantly surrounded by people all wanting to make an impression on him, have his favor or attention, even a few who loved him, still always stood apart and lonely. The descriptions and images of the work and the art, the parties, all of it left me feeling wrung out and exhausted. I have no idea how he and the people of The Factory kept up that pace, but as my partner pointed out when I talked to her about the book…”drugs helped”. 😆

So true. I love ones like this that pay attention to every detail. The paperback has silver-edged pages!

Russell | 80 comments Page 144-145 took my breath away, I would love to find it as a print. I checked Typex's website but they didn't have it up as far as I could see. :(

Oh bummer! You could keep an eye out for inexpensive used copies and remove the spread to frame if all else fails.

Russell | 80 comments Oh that’s a great idea!

I used to get a lot of used picture books on the bag day (all the books you can fit in a bag for $X) of library book sales -- they've usually been weeded because they're worn out but individual pages and endpapers are often still in good condition for framing or using for crafts. I have a whole stash!
