I don't think so... the MC is named Archer and it seems to be a contemporary bodyguard book.

Ah ha. Too bad :)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments There are several unused books that fit the page number requirement but don't have any potential tasks listed. Hopefully some of the readers check in and can verify if they fit any of the other tasks!!

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments Cabin Fever read by Heather 19/Jun 320pgs has forest on cover!

Archer is MCs name, he is a bodyguard and a scarred war hero :D
He is wise, but sadly does not have archery as a hobby :D

Keely (kiwifruit192) | 1813 comments In A Boy Called Christmas that I read, Nikolas/Father Christmas becomes wise when he is older and decides to give presents to children all over the world. I don't remember if he is described as wise in the book though. There was an elf that seemed pretty wise too, but I don't remember what his name was. I can try and find out if needed.

I updated the spreadsheet and replaced The Living Dead with The Crow Trap.

This killed the Manticore T141-145

Melissa | 1895 comments Any riddlers in your books?

Sphinx

The Greek Sphinx has been spotted on your lands and befuddling your citizens left and right. Requires some planning and moderate effort to defeat, send your smartest warriors and for the love of all the gods, don't confuse her with her good-for-nothing Egyptian cousin.

To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 200 and 299 pages (inclusive).
2.) Read a book where the characters go on a journey.
3.) Read a book where the MC must solve a riddle.
4.) Read a book with a mountain on cover.
5.) Read a book with a brown cover (at least 50%).

message 1016: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments Unfortunately not - unless you count a mystery as a riddle?

message 1017: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments Well, we've said that in the past, so I think it's okay. I plunked in one of the Cold Cases there.
Mary's The Spirit Rebellion looks kinda brown

message 1018: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments Any journeys or mountains?

message 1019: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments I'll put Mary's The Spirit Rebellion in, but please switch if there is a better one :)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments Ohh… Mages Guide they travel to several places…

message 1021: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments I'm just kind of throwing things at the monsters!

message 1022: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments Nice. I'll put that in.
Day of Days is also brown, and fits the page count.

message 1025: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments Sounds good! Any mountains on the cover? :)

message 1026: by Melissa (new)

message 1030: by Stacey (new)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 1377 comments Okay teammates. I have a book with an archer and a different book set in Egypt. I will probably not be able to get both done by Friday. Which would be better for me to concentrate on?

message 1031: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments Hmmm good question! Is the Egypt book 500 or more pages?

message 1032: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments Ok. I updated the spreadsheets but couldn’t put in the link to the book with the stupid google app on my iPad mini. Ugh!

message 1033: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments I'll link it, no problem!
I'm going to miss these monsters come Friday :)

message 1034: by Stacey (new)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 1377 comments Melissa wrote: "Hmmm good question! Is the Egypt book 500 or more pages?"

message 1035: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments I don't know :)

message 1036: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments Lamia

The Lamia has been spotted on your lands and the disappearances of children are on the rise. Requires some planning and moderate effort to defeat, look to the stars for the answers and to the shadows for the monster.

To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 200 and 299 pages (inclusive).
2.) Read a book with the night sky on the cover.
3.) Read a book where someone is kidnapped.
4.) Read a book that features a prophecy.
5.) Read a book where a child (under age 18) is an important part of the plot.

Melissa | 1895 comments In the captain's group they call her "lemon-tits" lol...

message 1038: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments A Shattered Silver Crown has night sky and kidnapping

message 1039: by Stacey (new)

Stacey (boydsmom) | 1377 comments Winterkill features a child important to the plot and Fake Wife has 217 pages.

No prophecy in any others of mine though...

message 1040: by Keely (new)

Keely (kiwifruit192) | 1813 comments A boy called christmas was 247 pages (I think) and Nikolas was a child under 18 for most of the book. An elf was also kidnapped, but I dont remember any prophecy.
I'm on my phone so I can't check much easily and I assume the book hasn't been used for anything. I dont think I had time to list anything it works for :(

message 1041: by Keely (new)

Keely (kiwifruit192) | 1813 comments The elf kidnapped was called Little Kip if that helps at all.

I'm flying home to the UK today so I'm probably not going to be able to get on here much.

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments Melissa, I see you have 4 books outstanding - will you be able to get them done in the next 2 days?

If not, which ones will you be able to?

I can read Dissonance which is #6 and will have a musical instrument. This would replace Hot Six and Heather's the Stand.

Heather - would The Stand work for Prophecy or Character considered Wise?

ETA: The Stand (original publication) was published Oct 3, 1978
