It does mean that a lot of ones that could have been used in the stories were used though."

No worries!
Did you mark which ones you used on the spreadsheet?
I can double check that.

message 1252: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments Fair enough.
I'll stretch it a bit.
Just going through what we have left.

message 1253: by Keely (new)

Keely (kiwifruit192) | 1813 comments Yes, it's all on the spreadsheet. I also went through and made a few changes so that ones that could fit in the story better were still free.
I promise I'll stop meddling now. I should to go to sleep anyway.

message 1254: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments I am so glad you are meddling!!
I can make a story about just about anything. I think :) Thanks for putting it all together!!

Melissa | 1895 comments I will be working on a new challenge - My Restaurant Rocks come September. (Teresa, I see you are in it too? :) I am wondering if any of you would like to join a team I'm on. We're looking for people who could read 13-14 books a month?

message 1256: by Keely (new)

Keely (kiwifruit192) | 1813 comments Oh there is so much temptation to join! I decided not to join as I'll be moving (probably beginning of September now) and there will be a lot to do at the new house and I'll have to try and find a job so I don't want to commit to something and then life gets in the way...
But team challenges help me read more...
Oh, the temptation!

Yes! I'm looking forward to it... It looks like it'll be fun, and I like that you can use pretty much any book genre. This way I can catch up on ones I've put aside so I can fit in things here :D

Keely (kiwifruit192) | 1813 comments Would you accept me on your team, Melissa, even if I don't meet around 13 books a month? I would do my best of course, I have plenty of shorter books I've been putting off because of challenges like this wanting longer books so I can try and keep on track with those, but as I explained life might get in the way.
I understand if you would prefer someone who is in a better position to commit to the amount of books.

Yes! I'll contact our team captain (ish) and we'll figure out the details. Yay!!

message 1262: by Keely (new)

Keely (kiwifruit192) | 1813 comments I guess I better read over the rules again.

In regards to this challenge, I finished White Fang earlier. I'll update the spreadsheet later when I get on my laptop. I'm on track to finish the last two I have listed. I dont think I'm going to manage any more than that before the deadline. Maybe one more short one, but I'll finish the others first.

message 1263: by Keli (new)

Keli | 1321 comments I put my final two books on the spreadsheet. I don't know if they are of use in the mini. I'll have a look tomorrow morning.

message 1264: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments Besides the stories, we still need books for

U14 Read a book read by a team member during the challenge
U15 Read a book read by a team member during the challenge
U16 Read a book read by a team member during the challenge
S16 Read a book that has be on your tbr longer than a year

I've highlighted the claimed but outstanding books on the spreadsheet.

Melissa | 1895 comments Okay, so these stories are terrible!!
My comedy is more of a wacky love story!!
Oh well....

message 1266: by Keely (new)

Keely (kiwifruit192) | 1813 comments I'm sure they are better than what I would have come up with.

I will finish my final book tomorrow. The challenge ends in the evening for me, so I will have time to finish it in the day.

Oh Lord, I'm not sure of that...
But it's done! And posted. I have an extra book in the comedy somewhere in case someone doesn't finish one of their books I used.

message 1268: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1895 comments Wow. I'm totally impressed that we finished the mini. (or are finishing it!)

message 1269: by Keli (new)

Keli | 1321 comments S16 - is covered by my red island house.
Sadly, my other book is Pollyanna and I don't think a team member read that. So I'll put S16 next to mine.

message 1270: by Keely (new)

Keely (kiwifruit192) | 1813 comments I read Pollyanna recently, I can't remember the exact date but it was within this challenge. But last time I check we had all those filled out.

Yes, i saw that after my post. Someone already put a code down for Pollyanna. Thank you, to whoever did that.

Melissa i love the stories. Unfortunatly the tragedy one needs to be fixed. The killing kind was a battleship book, which means it can't be used for the story. Think you can switch something up?

message 1274: by Eni (new)

Eni | 2349 comments Countdown to the end of the Challenge:

https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown...

After it reaches zero, no more books will be accepted

message 1275: by Eni (new)

Eni | 2349 comments Mary C, are you planning to do answer the questions for The Malibu Rising? If so, they need to be done before the countdown ends

Melissa,
Thanks for the offer to join your team. It's been great playing with you and you've been an awesome co-captain, whereas I have been a stinky one! Haha! Life has been so busy I could barely keep up with the thread and read some! I'm going to take a pass at any other challenges for at least one month. I participated in too many challenges over the past 6 months and just need to take a break to do my own reading on a more relaxed time frame. I would love to be on another team with you in the future! Also, I thought your funny story and your tragedy story were just fine! Thanks for taking the lead when no one else could do it!

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments I might be interested in My Restaurant Rocks. I'll go look at the challenge. I didn't play last time.

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments Thanks to everyone who got the last mini finished. I had a busy weekend We took a bus trip to Saratoga Springs and then yesterday I had a quarterly meeting about an upcoming audit at my lodge. I did manage to get a couple books finished and I'll get those marked ASAP for last minute points.
