I'm sorry it's all a bit overwhelming. Fostering kittens is not easy. Just be patient and kind to yourself. You're doing a wonderful thing. In regards to TT, some of us are reading more than we claimed, so it may not be such a problem if you are reading less. But if being in the group and not contributing how you wish makes things more stressful, then make the decision that's right for you. There will be other Tower Teams or Wheels. But before you decide maybe think about reading bigger books for more page points. I think a few of those over the period can contribute a fair few points. And you might find that things change in the next few weeks. 💛🧡❤

Thank you Keli. The books I have been working on have been on the longer side as that was my plan initially anyway so I've been trying for more points over more books. Hopefully things will calm down this week so I can finish at least one or two of the books I am working on and then I will feel a bit better about this challenge.

This sounds like a lot! I'm sorry it's kind rough now. I think it's a good idea to give it a couple of days and see how it goes.

I just started it.

I've been slightly obsessed with the maze, so I've been reading mostly for that....

Oh good then we're getting maze points. I looked in a couple times over the weekend but someone was already covering the latest task. Also hubby works most weekends and he was off most of this past weekend. So I had less reading time. We binged watched Republic of Doyle on Amazon. We also enjoyed an herbal supplement that's legal in Massachusetts.

I finished a BOM book:The Book of Cold Cases.

Librarians can merge editions, which essentially deletes duplicate, incomplete editions.

So sorry I haven't been contributing. I'm at the beach with our family of 11 this week, so it's just a bit chaotic. Especially since I'm the mom and grandmom, I'm getting pulled in many directions and honestly, just want to spend time with my kids, especially those I don't see often.
We leave Saturday, so next week I should be back on track with my reading and posting.

We love Republic of Doyle. I wish they had done more. I need other countries to make shows like we do in the states: too many! Some of these classic British and Canadian shows have so few episodes and sometimes years between series. I just don't get it. Meanwhile the US has shows that go on forever like Gray's Anatomy and the Kardashians.

I'm hoping there will be new Doc Martin episodes by the time we finish Doyle. I think they just filmed the last season.

I keep trying to do another Maze book but someone always beats me to the task. But I see that Kit and Melissa managed to get some in so we're getting some maze points at least.

The trick is to check what task is available just before you finish a book. If it fits you can claim it! It really speeds things up!

Just an update that I have multiple books going for some reason. I sometimes have issues sticking with one book at at time. Frequently actually. Anyway, I plan to start making myself finish various books. Mostly because the library will start repossessing them and they have wait lists. I will probably end up with 4 or 5 books finished on the same day.

I finished a book and have a few others I need to log in still. Going to the SS to see what fits.

I've managed to get a bit back on track. I will finish a book today and I've been working on a couple of other books including two of the BOMs which most people have probably long finished, but as long as I finish them in the time frame, we will get extra points.

I should finally finish a book tonight, which will make me feel like less of a benchwarmer, lol! Work has just been crazy and tiring me out lately. Hoping it calms down soon.

Phew! I think we're winding down the maze. We had a long time where we had to backtrack, and so we did not get first or second place (which I think had points?) . This is not for lack of trying! The people on the maze were so quick to read and post!! We are finishing up the maze soon.

There will be a new mini coming out to each of the separate teams soon! It starts on June 15th for reals.

I'm going to try to finish a bunch of books I was holding onto for the maze.

Checking in to say I'm still here. I just haven't had a moment to read since I did a maze task last week. End of year commitments are insane and I forgot that with covid in full swing the last two years. Hopefully I'll be back on my game after the 17th.

Erymanthian Boar has been seen on your lands, roaming the mountain tops. Very hard to defeat, recommend bundling up and using the mountain top weather to your advantage.

To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 500 and 650 pages (inclusive).
2.) Read a book whose title starts with a letter from MOUNTAIN.
3.) Read a book with snow on the cover.
4.) Read a book where a character gets drunk.
5.) Read a book with MPG Animal.

Harpies



Groups of Harpies have been spotted on your lands, ruining outdoor feasts at every opportunity. Easy to defeat with the motivation to chase them far enough away, enjoy the cardio.

To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 100 and 125 pages (inclusive).
2.) Read a book that features a feast or banquet.
3.) Read a book that contains a chase (car chase, foot chase, etc).
4.) Read a book with a character who is royalty.
5.) Read a book that features a thief.

Nemean Lion



Nemean Lion has been seen lounging in the sun on your land after feasting on man. He's hard to defeat, don't underestimate him because he sleeps more than he's awake. Also, don't send Kate Daniels, "here kitty kitty kitty" probably won't turn out as well for her this time.

To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 350 and 450 pages (inclusive).
2.) Read a book that takes place in Africa.
3.) Read a book where both hands (of one person) are visible on the cover.
4.) Read a book with an open plain landscape on the cover.
5.) Read a book that features a cat (cat shifter accepted).

Sphinx



The Greek Sphinx has been spotted on your lands and befuddling your citizens left and right. Requires some planning and moderate effort to defeat, send your smartest warriors and for the love of all the gods, don't confuse her with her good-for-nothing Egyptian cousin.

To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 200 and 299 pages (inclusive).
2.) Read a book where the characters go on a journey.
3.) Read a book where the MC must solve a riddle.
4.) Read a book with a mountain on cover.
5.) Read a book with a brown cover (at least 50%).

I am currently reading to Catch-22 which would cover two of the tasks for the Boar. It is 519 pages long so would cover task 1 and a character (General Dreedle amongst others) is often drunk so would also cover task 4. I don't have much left so I would be able to finish it as soon as the mini starts.

Yes! This is the mini-challenge!
I came down with COVID two days ago, and I'm kind of limping along.. Sorry to not be clearer on that one! I haven't even read about it yet, but I hope to do so tonight.

I am going to be reading a book with 576 pages for Turf Wars, but no way will I get through it fast enough.

I'll look to see another task that might work for the maze.
