First of all, I just have to say I adored this book to bits, heh!

To those who have read the book: I was just wondering if I can get some clarification about the ending, (view spoiler)[Did Rafe jump out of the window and died or did he just open the window to call out to Ambrose? (hide spoiler)] I may have misinterpreted the words and it's been bothering me since I finished the book.
