Great African Reads discussion

Hello! I've currently just finished reading Blue Shoes and Happiness (probably the 7th book in the series). Back in Tears of the Giraffe, we learn that Mma Ramotswe's ring is cubic zirconia, not diamond. I figured that the subsequent book would help resolve that issue, but it did not. Books later, the issue hasn't been brought back up.

To those who have read farther along in the series, does the issue of her ring ever come back up? (You don't have to spoil how it happens, if it does...just knowing that it does, or doesn't, will suffice.) Right now it seems to be a plot hole that hasn't been addressed...and not that it's a bad thing...and maybe I've misinterpreted the situation...but I figured Mma Ramotse would have brought this up to Mr. J.L.B. Matekoni, or would have at least had some internal musings.

I am thoroughly enjoying the series. :)
