The obvious answer is - no, however I do remember that FBI looked into Hillary's alleged wrongdoing too and some say it cost her elections. Muller's probe into Trump didn't come up with anything significant. I hope federal agencies are still somewhat unaffiliated, although it's all usually - to a degree...

Nik Krasno | 19856 comments So far, Elon's move on twitter looks like a whim. Undoubtedly, he noticed how his posts influenced business quotations, beyond that - it looks like somewhat scandalous improvisation.
His recent foray into geopolitics might have some meaning for him too. As S. African born, he won't be running for president, but maybe he does have some other political aspirations..

It is truly sad to attack Matt Taibbi. He truly is an honest broker. it has been amazing watching him go from leaning left to center. I used to watch his father on NYC news casters. He as great too.

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 8079 comments Yeah, I enjoyed his articles in Rolling Stone before he left. He seemed like a good reporter looking for the truth. Attacking (or, previously, killing) the messenger has always been a tactic to shut someone up, which is what liberals are trying to do. I admire his guts. This is a story that needs to get out, how the government and Democrats put pressure on social media outlets to kill the Hunter Biden laptop story before the election. This is a big deal, election tampering, and Democrats are going to pull out all the stops to silence or ridicule everyone involved. Including Elon, my hero :-)

Reporter Taibbi states, “Celebrities and unknowns alike could be removed or reviewed at the behest of a political party.” Which party would want to suppress opposing views on Covid or Hunter Biden's laptop? Who's refusing to report this? All the major networks and cable news. Try to find the story there. Censorship continues by omission.

Then he banned a number of reporters from some major outlets who proceeded to post the location of his jet as part of their story about the first banning. The media is screeching over his censorship, but that crazy stalker is the result of their attempts to dox his location.

J. Gowin | 7989 comments "Doxxing" was a violation of Twitter's terms of service before Musk bought it. But Twitter was biased in their application of their own rules. This bias was has been demonstrated in the ongoing Twitter Files reporting.

It seems that certain parties don't like it when there isn't a bias in their favor.

Yes, but there are limitations. Doxxing is dangerous in the least, but more importantly it is harassment. Yet, the internet social media sites have protections if they act as a neutral third party form what gets posted. so here is the problem, where is the line for the crossing. If we agree tat doxxing does not deserve protections, then how about name calling or trolling? If you end doxxing, does that cross the line because one is not then acting in a neutral third party, but actively censoring?

Because Space Daddy let non-leftwing voices back on Twitter and has generally been trolling the Libs, he is a Nazi. And the author can't own a car that was built by a Nazi. While I personally hope that the author buys a Ford product (Google "Henry Ford anti-Semitism"), the funniest example of this sort of mindset was actress Alyssa Milano who couldn't bear to own a car associated with a Nazi. So she bragged about selling her Tesla and buying a Volkswagen.

There's so much proof that Twitter actively censored anything about Hunter's laptop, as well as medical professionals with dissenting opinions about Covid during the pandemic. No question that they censored anything that would prevent Biden from being elected (election interference by government agencies, by the way) but also any opinions from medical professionals that countered what was being pushed on the public by the party in power. Twitter was not "a neutral third party, but actively censoring" way before the doxxing issue came up.

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 8079 comments Elon killed in that BBC interview. He's recently been interviewed by Tucker Carlson also, and was allowed to express himself in a meaningful conversation. He thinks that the current approach to AI without appropriate restrictions or forethought is dangerous, and he's actually going to do something about it by starting his own AI company. I liked the quote you posted, J., especially this part about a man who's actually doing something about his beliefs: "who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.” Elon believes that free speech is necessary for a democracy to function, and he did something about it by buying Twitter for much more than it was worth. He's trying, against the odds, to change the course of history for the better. My hero.
