I thoroughly had enjoyed this last book. More so than the 5th one which made me not have very high hopes for it to be truly honest. Glad that my hopes were proven wrong. As I had started this just over 2 weeks or so ago, I could not put it down. I am sure I would have finished this book sooner if I didn't get sick on one of the weeks when I was reading it. I did find this one to be a little more spiritual than the others. A lot more God talk in it but I did expect some of it as it is Janette Oke.
I will say that I was disappointed that Christine didn't chose Laray but at the same time I am pretty happy she didn't. She seemed a bit of a baby always whining on why she is not back up in the North. She had to learn to let that go and to have someone who loves her for her and to love them for them, no because of who they are. I may have not been happy she didn't choose Laray but in the end I am glad because she would have been using him for what he is instead of who he is. And I would have hated her for it because that is just the wrong thing to do. I do wish though that there was more of a relationship build between Laray and her as friends. As I was reading this book, I thought to myself there is no way that this is the last book but the last 6 patches wraps it up nicely, completing the series in a great way.
I do recommend this book to anyone who wants a nice warm read. Yes it has some spirituality and God talk in it but it really isn't much in your face. I consider myself spiritual but I did skim over the parts that became to much as I found them to pull away from the story more than they added. As well I found it repetitive so I skimmed when I felt it repeated. I did enjoy it and I think others will. Pick this up on your next book hunt!
