The song, yes, but i wouldn,t have known who sang it at 13 years of age, then. I woz into a different field of music than what was being pumped out in the charts back then!

Ditto re the different field of music. It was the likes of Whitesnake and Kiss for me. Still loved that Tiffany song though.

AC/DC and Iron Maiden were mine, back then! I don,t think the two of us cared all that much for popular choices of the day!

We're the same age, Duke. First group I was ever into was A-Ha in 1985 (before that I was buying stuff like "Orville's Song" and "Fan Dabi Dozi"! Then the likes of Europe and Bon Jovi hit the mainstream charts 86, and I was sold. Hard Rock/Hair Metal forever!!!

There was an awful lot of 'hair' in the 1980s! 😄

I got my musical education from my parent's record collection: Dad was into Stones, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Beatles, Elvis, Orbinson, Simon & Garfunkel, Pink Floyd and many others, including some i cared less for, Mum....she is a die hard Queen fan! So, I was destined to love rock! First album I ever bought was Brother In Arms by Dire Straights, but I do recall a grandfather handed me a few worn copies of those cheap budget studio session Pickwick/Hallmark Top of the Pops albums from the '70s, with the now non PC 'sexy glamour model' on the cover. As a then mere 10 year old, i got a different kind of education from those record sleeves!! Many years later, probably for nostalgic reasons, I collected the whole lot, all 100 and something of them, with the comps. I don,t have them now, sold them on, but I recall, number 87 was very hard to find, as was the last one, No. 92, featuring the lovely Linda Lusardi. Samantha Fox even appeared on one of them.

But speaking of 80's music, I appreciate some of it a lot more now, than I did back then.

And thank you darling, I,m on the mend, just a few more days of chemo left, and that should be the end of it, with any luck. The bloods have been coming up negative for malignant cells, so I should get the all clear soon. 🤗

My Dad's musical taste was more geared towards Country etc. So basically the only records of his that I liked and kept when he walked out on us were Lynn Anderson's "Country Girl" and The Beach Boys "20 Golden Greats". I did have a thing for Elvis when I was wee though. Mum tends to think that the 60's was the best decade music wise where for me it'll always be the 80's. We never had any Top Of The Pops albums, but I still have (and listen to) our Donna's Parade Of Pops album she got as an extra pressie Christmas 1980.

So glad things are finally looking up for you, Duke. You've had such a worrying time. 😊
