Going into books a bit blind causes me to be wrong about expectations all of the time, which is part of the fun. I have no clue why I thought this was going to be more of a self-help book when the author is a known entity to me and a fiction writer. But. That's what I thought it was going to be so I had kind of avoided it.

Katherine Center has quickly become my, hand's down, favorite author. This book did not disappoint.

The plot follows a woman out of a bad marriage who is trying to figure out her life. She has an eccentric brother and Grandmother who she loves dearly but has lost a bit of connection with. She decides that she is going to challenge herself with an adventure course. The adventure course is right up my alley. I've always wanted to do one.

I love how Katherine Center's book have the right note of humor (for me) and especially love the ending of this one.

I had never read anything by Katherine Center before the WPF author challenge and it turns out I like her a lot. I've only read Happiness and How to Walk Away which I also enjoyed. I have Things You Save in a Fire ready for next month.

I updated my review because it was only halfway finished when I posted it before. How to Walk Away is my favorite. Although, I did the ARC read of The Bodyguard that I really, really enjoyed.

A character from Things you save in a Fire made a cameo appearance in the beginning of How to Walk Away.
