I notice that there isn't much diversity when it comes to characters in roleplays on Goodreads. I'd love to do a story about an African American girl who falls in love with a White male and how they break down stereotypes along the way? They could be teens or young adults. I think young adults in college or roommates after college would be interesting? It's up to you. Are you okay with this idea? :)
Sure. Roommates after college could be interesting. Or maybe in the workplace and they live right next door to each other?
I think we should try roommates after college? My character could be an up and coming writer at a magazine company and she's trying to save money and pay off student loans. To avoid a huge rent bill she signed up for a roommate matching company through her apartment building. After the company finds a match to this unknown guy, she meets him when she first moves in. How does this sound?

I like to be detailed. It allows you to fully understand the characters background, but it can be time consuming. How about we do something simple like this,

Description: Summer is a different kind of gorgeous. Her dark chocolate skin exudes radiance and shimmers in the sunlight. Her big deep brown eyes are surrounded by her thick, long, curly eyelashes. Her lips are plump and her nose ski-sloped. Her natural hair is breast-length, black, and curly but she loves doing different styles with it. She loves playing around in makeup but her natural beauty always shines through. She stands at 5'9" making her taller than the normal female. Paired with her height is her athletic, yet curvaceous figure that catches the eyes of many men. Her walk is graceful and she is beautiful. She is Summer.
Relationship Status: Single, although Summer is gorgeous, she's always had trouble keeping a steady relationship. Guys often try to use her but once they find out that she's saving herself until marriage they dump her. She'd love to be in a relationship with a man who is kind, loving, and willing to wait for her.
Personality: Summer if a bubbly, athletic, hard working girl. She loves to work out and if she isn't in work clothes she's in workout gear. Summer has always been outgoing. Summer is the only child of Jessie and Carla, and went to a prestigious prep school in Manhattan her whole life. Jessie and Carla were always able to provide the best of the best for Summer, while teaching her to remain humble.
After summer graduated from high school, she went New York University. She majored in journalism, and shortly after graduation she was offered a job at Essence Magazine. Summer is currently enjoying life, working, and trying hard to pay off student loans.

Description: Austin is extremely handsome but in a sort of dangerous way. Austin has many scars on his chest. His skin is tanned but not to dark. He keeps his hair cut short. He has blue eyes and fine lips. Austin is a very tall guy at 6'4. Austin is very athletic and built, he enjoys to play sports and get into fights. He also has a Australian accent.
Relationship Status: Single. Austin has had only 1 major relationship that ended in turmoil because of his personality. Because of how Austin looks he is always being stared at by the girls. He would like a girl who would actually put up with his personality and not try and change everything about him.
Personality: Austin is a short-tempered, athletic, hard-working guy. Most of the times he is a hard-ass and very confident in himself. He is very kind and loving when he wants to be. He is a go-getter. He loves adventure and trying new things.

"Hello?" Summer said tapping the opened door to her loft apartment. Boxes were spread all across the shiny dark hardwood floors. Obviously her new, nameless roommate had arrived. She dropped her black Celine bag on the kitchen counter and took off her coat. She ran her fingers through her long black curls and searched around the loft for her roommate. Her tall heels making a click clack echoed sound because of the high ceilings.
"Hello?" Summer said tapping the opened door to her loft apartment. Boxes were spread all across the shiny dark hardwood floors. Obviously her new, nameless roommate had arrived. She dropped her black Celine bag on the kitchen counter and took off her coat. She ran her fingers through her long black curls and searched around the loft for her roommate. Her tall heels making a click clack echoed sound because of the high ceilings.
Austin was unpacking his things into his new room with his headphones in. Right then he was listening 21 guns by Green Day. "One, 21 guns, Lay down your arms, Give up the fight, One, 21 guns..." He sang. He had all of his things here but now he was just waiting for his bed to get here.
Summer ventured upstairs towards the bedrooms. She saw a tall man unpacking in what used to be an empty room. He wasn't what she expected, but he was willing to help pay the rent. Being the fearless person she was, Summer walked up behind him and tapped his shoulder.
Austin jumped when he felt a tap on his shoulder. "Woah!" He laughed. He turned around and saw a tall, hot woman standing there. "Hi. Are you the roommate?" He asked her. "If you are, than you gotta work on approaching me without catching me totally off guard." He smiled at her. "The names, Austin." He held out his hand to her.
Was he already trying to flirt? Right now all Summer needed was a roommate. Maybe a relationship could come later. He was kind of cute though. She took his hand and felt his strong grip. "Yeah, I'm Summer. Summer Kelsey." She smiled, showing her blinding white teeth. She let go of his hand and started to look around his room. She crossed her arms and spun around to face him. "I see you're already making yourself at home Austin."
He smiled and looked around the room as well. "Yeah, I am. I hope you don't mind that I choose first. But, first come, first serve, right?" HE laughed. "I'm just teasing ya. But I do hope you don't mind. I left you this room over here with the best view." He walked out and went into an empty room.
Summer followed Austin into the room. He wasn't lying about the view. The New York skyline shimmered through the tall glass windows. She also had a walk in closet. She smiled and spoke, "Thanks. This is amazing. Now I just have to unload the truck." Summer walked out towards the landing and back down the stairs. The sun was setting and she needed to get her things upstairs before dark.
HE smiled. "No problem, Summer." He walked out of her room. "Do you want some help with your stuff?" He asked her. "I mean it will help if you have someone strong like me." He flexed his muscles and laughed.
Summer laughed and rolled her dark brown eyes. "Whatever. Just come on." She grabbed her coat and waited at the door for Austin.
He ran down the stairs and out the door. "I'm here. Lead the way." He motioned to the door.
The chilly New York air hit her skin and blew her curls. It was the beginning of fall and Summer knew that there was more of this weather to come. There was no place like home. No place like New York. "Hey guys. My roommate offered to help us unload." Four movers from a moving company smiled at Austin and started to unload boxes, furniture, and all of Summer's things off the truck. Summer grabbed a few plants from her car and headed back into the loft.
Austin stepped out into the chilly air. He breathed in it and smiled. "Ahh. Perfect." He nodded to the four movers as Summer kind of introduced them. He got some boxes and went to put them in the apartment. Once he finished putting the boxes he also helped with the furniture.
Summer grabbed the lighter items and was glad to have Austin's extra help. She couldn't wait to set up her new space and finally have time to relax. She was also interested in getting to know more about Austin.
