Whenever I have made characters with powers, I always try to add some sort of "catch" to it. So mine might be more humanistic with a slight twist. haven't pinpointed exactly what I wanted.
Or it could be similar to the movie John Carter, where when you put a human on mars he gets super strength, less gravity, etc since the atmosphere is different.
(this would come into play if we wanted to go the human exploring or lost in the cosmos futuristic adventure)

“I’m not evil. Just misunderstood.”
Appearance: (view spoiler)
Clothing style: Fancy green shirt made out of a material that looks like leaves, with slits in the back for his wings.
Power: . . . He’s a fairy. But he can also give plants an extra boost and has *small* healing powers that drain him alot to use.
“If you don’t have fun, then you’ll never truly live.”
History *LEAST HAVE 5 SENTENCES*: He was abandoned in a tree when he was young. When he was 10 he left the woods that he was left in, and began wandering. He spends most of his time wandering around his planet, finding shelter when it comes close to nighttime.
Dislikes: Humans, the night
Likes: Sun, trees, the forest
Fears: The dark.
“Don’t worry dear”
Fun Facts: He hates being around modern technology, saying its a disgrace to him.
“I don’t hate you. That would mean I cared.”
Parents: ~Abandoned him~
Siblings: ~unknown at this time~
Overall Family *Uncle, Aunt, Cousins, Etc*: ~unknown at this time~
Other: He’s considered to be very twisted, and doesn’t have friends due to that trait.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

I want to mess around with a advanced tech traveler feel. So some advanced tech that works but just breaks frequently/inconveniently, leaving her stranded until it’s repaired. I also want to give her a sense of finding “rifts” (which then can be activated by her tech) which lead her to different / often dangerous spots,
Thoughts?

Should we have my character stumble into your home area? Or are both going to be travelers and meet on a journey?
I think it’s be fun if they stumble across each other

I think stumbling into a tavern w/broken mech will probably be a good starting area. Either to get drink or to be liking for information

But then when too much similarities doesn’t bring a fulfilling/sustainable plot.

Clothing Style: A suit is worn when jumping through her rifts and on initial landing of new areas. It is form fitted but not snug and has complex elements as its compound. Her bag of "street clothes" consist of neutral colors and cargo style clothes.
"Powers": Her suit and tech are far more advanced than humans. Her suit allows for transition into near atmospheres and is capable of limited life support if injured. She is not exactly human, so the other half of her is foreign, which allows for her to sense "rifts" in different areas. When she finds it, if her tech is working, she opens the rifts and travels wherever it takes her. With home much she jumps between rifts it gets hard to keep track.

Ezra had been on his feet for quite a while now. He was running low on food and supplies, and had to take a break and gather his senses again. He looked around the empty road and let out a weary sigh. Well, i guess I could fly.. Flying was dangerous in these parts, because as people have highway men who hijack cars on earth, The same was here for the fairies if they decided to fly. But Ezra was hungry and he had nothing left but bread crusts at this point. He takes to the sky, flying straight over the tangled woods and towards the direction he knew a tavern was. He managed to get there without incident thankfully, and landed in front of the small tavern. It was in a mostly deserted town, but he should be able to find supplies. He steps inside the tavern and almost instantly recoils. It stunk of metal. "What's causing this?" He asks a bartender, who points to a defeated looking girl in futuristic armour. Ezra stalked up to her and points at her accusingly. "Why are you here with your... Metal human? It's tainting the place!"

A Small tavern was visible, so she went in. a source of further rest and food. She slung her bag onto the seat next to her and ordered a drink, which turned into multiple as she further assessed the damage. Her regulator on the suit had been crushed and her jump drive on her arm was sparking too.
A time went by when a voice came from behind her.
"Why are you here with your... Metal human? It's tainting the place!"
Taking a breath, she didn't even turn. "Mistake one, not fully human, mistake two..." she rotated so the damaged items could be displayed. She looked at him with her red eyes as well, further displaying the first bit of information. "I am just a broken-down traveler finding a bit of rest. That is what taverns are for right?"

“You want to help? I need a few parts or at least some access to tools.” She stated her mind turning to what she needed. “I can fix it in a few days. So I need a spot too, any suggestions?” She muttered the last bit, hoping that if he wanted her out that he could suggest something else. “Until I find a spot, taverns are public spots.” A sour tone slipped out.

He regarded the lady with caution before answering. "First thing, I don't know what you're trying to do, but that's the taverns weakest liquor. Also, it's not safe to get drunk in these parts. I have a friend, he's a long way off though. he's insufferable with his tinkering... but he has a whole workshop. I could bring you... If we find somewhere to put your technology so I can't smell it."

“Alright, I won’t do drunk, I just need to take the edge off. I did fall from a tree after all.” Alani said to the man. Side eying him to see his reaction. People usually didn’t believe her when she states how she got to the place.
When he mentioned a place where she could go and fix her tech her mind started to weigh the options. She didn’t know this person, granted she didn’t know half the people she had adventures with in the past. What if there was a catch?
“What is needed or expected of me?” She decided upon asking. “I can’t tell if you are doing this out of the kindness of your heart or something else, no offense.” She said going back to taking the last sip of the now noticeably weak liquor.

"Hmm I hadn't thought about that.. How about this. You pay for me to restock my provisions, before and after this, and you make sure I can't smell your technology. As long as you do that, and you don't try to cut off my wings, we will be perfectly fine." He says clapping his hands together like it was already a done deal.

She leaned back into the chair and folded her arms. “Kind of hard to pay for things when I’m not from around her.” She unfolded her arms and pulled out a variety of foreign coins. Various sizes and colors and designs. “Got most of these from other worlds so unless you take these I can do an service exchange. For example, I’m paying for this by fixing a few back office items.” She gestured to the now straight door, it was off its track and tilted when she came in. A few of the barstools had also been fixed to not wobble anymore. Being a craftsman comes in handy.
“Didn’t know my tech reeked, advice on how I can fix you not to smell it? In addition I don’t want your wings. I’ve seen plenty of different creatures and not taken any of their features.” She said honestly, well did taking a life count? She did get in some sticky situations and unfortunate outcomes did occur. Wasn’t always intentional.

"Well, it's not something that people who use, or wear it alot can smell. And if your partially human, or raised on a human like planet, with the smog and pollution, your senses dull to it after a while." He says tapping his nose. "My kind is much more sensitive." He says with a small sigh. "It's annoying, honestly." He looks around, "Honestly I can stand the smell, but the smell usually means hunters or collections."

"No smog and pollution where I come from, just lots of tech, so I guess I am used to it." She said with a shrug and looking sadly into her now empty cup. "Well once I do get it cleaned up it should help some. And I am no hunter or collection. More of an explorer." It was more complicated than that, she had gotten into some trouble back home and her relationship with the force wasn't the best at the moment, but that was need to know information and for right now, he didn't need to know.

"Alrighty. Oh, would you like me to get you another drink? I can get you something stronger if you'd like?" Ezra says with a tilt of his head. He was still covering his nose though, if only to prove a point. "I see, well, explorers are gladly welcome in these parts. In fact, i'm one myself." He says, calling the bartender over and speaking in a different language quickly, before sending him on his way.

"What did you say to him?" Alani asked the man. REalizing that they had gone this whole time without proper introduction she continued. "By the way I don't think I caught your name. Mine is Alani."

"Oh, I was just ordering the actual stong liquor. Although, when I say it's strong I mean, like, you redoing this entire tavern wouldn't be enough to pay for it." Ezra says, pulling out a small translucent ball and tossing it to the waiter as he walks away. "My name is Ezra." He says, a bit suprised that the girl had cared enough to ask his name.

"I sure won't mind sleeping hard tonight." She said with his response of it being the strong liquor. She just hoped and prayed that it wouldn't give her a bad trip like the last time she got sloshed from another worlds liquor. Time would certainly tell.
She eyed the small translucent ball that the man tossed towards the waiter. Curious she inquired more about it. "What was that orb you tossed just now? Is that this world's currency?"
"Also, nice to meet you Ezra, my name is Alani. If we are working together for the next day or two, I ot to call you by your name." It also helps with building reliable contacts and not getting jumped as she was the foreigner her.
"What is this world's definition of unsafe? Like what do I need to watch out for while here?" She asked, waiting oh so patiently for the drink, yet still focused on the conversation.

"Not exactly. I don't have much actually money, so I trade rare ores or stuff worth equal value in order to buy things." Ezra says with a small shrug taking out another one with a bluish tint.
"hmm? the path to my friends will take at least a week. and that's with good weather. we don't wanna be caught In the acid showers that's for sure." he mutters looking up as the waiter brings over a cup of milk looking stuff and a large mug of frothy ale.
"the highway men, and the sky's equivalent. don't go into the woods at all without me, as fairies are the only ones who can get through them without either dying or going insane. oh! and don't go near anyone with purple eyes."

"A week to get to your friend's place? We should be leaving as quick as we can then. After this drink perhaps?" It wasn't like she was eager to go, but having her tech broken always made her nervous. The waiter brought two drinks, and she greatly accepted whichever Ezra slid her way. And delicately took a first sip, the potent aroma hitting her nose. She took more eagerly.
"I do need to ask. Is this a killed or get killed planet?" She had been to a few before where unfortunately life had to be taken in order for hers to keep hers. Hey, it sure beat being enslaved to do unthinkable horrors. "But with you as my guide it'll be better." She said, her thinking starting to go slightly numb.

"Uhm, no. After the drink we need to find a motel, and hunker down for the night. Because your going to crash hard with that liquor in your system." He says nodding at her mug. "One of us needs to stay sober though, and since you're deadset on getting drunk, i'll do it. I don't drink much anyways."
"Uhm, just about yes. The bigger towns have law holders, and perimiters and checks and everything before you can go in, but out here, it's every thing for itself." He says lowering his head. He had obviously been through something himself. "I suppose, although i can't speak for myself on my loyalties." He murmurs, sitting back.
((No its alright.))

He was right, the liquor earlier was so weak, this stuff was great! She started to get a little foggy brained, listening but more focused on the drink.
“Maybe.. maybe we can swap stories sometime.” She said not just in reference to the unfortunate events. But rather referring to just general. “It’s hard to trust sometimes.” She stated simply. Getting more and more of the drink into her, her eyes slowly turning to reflect her state of mind.
A little while went by and then she could feel the effects taking over. “Probably best to head out before I pass out.” She said with slight slur to her words. She slowly pushed herself upwards, holding the table to further steady herself. “But I do need one of those to go.” She flagged the waiter, indicating a refill to go, even providing her own canister for display of where it could get put.

Ezra watched her down the liquor and waved for the bartender to get another. Might as well let her have tonight. After all, there won't be time for drinking after they head out. He wanted to keep his wings, thank you very much.
"Maybe. I'm not much for speaking of my personal stories though." He says softly looking down at his own drink. He waited until she was drunk before standing. People were catching on to the visitor in the suggestable state. Time to go.
"Right you are." He agrees. The waiter was back with the second drink, pouring it into Her canister. "Come on let's find you a hotel room." He says quietly. He didn't like the looks he was recieving.

It had been a day. She was allowed to have a night off right? The looks at this point did not get to her. She had done her fair share of fighting while drunk, and lets just say it never ended well. So ignoring the stares were preferred. Besides its a tavern, drunk is normal here. She at least hoped it was.
"Lead the way." She said matching his quieter tone. At least she wasn't a completely useless drunk, a little tipsy, but still. When she reached the door frame she stood there proudly for a moment. Only bumped two chairs on the way to the door.
They stepped outside and the fresh air hit her, confusing her senses more. Sighing with a roll of her eyes she started off in the direction Ezra was headed.
(( we can rp the walk to the hotel, or skip to the hotel, or skip the night. your call, with her drunk it could go many different ways so lead the way"

Ezra hadn't slept in the hotel room. He only had enough for a one bed, because hotels are horrible with trading. So instead he scrounged the rooms, found one with a tree right outside the window, and rented that one out. He had helped Alani into the room, and then left, going back out to the tree, where he flitted up. He didn't like sleeping indoors anyways.
The next morning, he woke up to a BANG! Someone was shooting at him while he was sleeping. Probably a bounty hunter. He lifted himself up off the tree and went to the roof of the building, walking to another entrance and going into the hotel. it had complimentary breakfast, and he hadn't seen Alani through the open curtains of the room. So she was either showering or eating. He entered the breakfast area and looked around blandly. Everything seemed three shades of dull.

Her bag was packed full, slipping the broken tech carefully in the bag as well. The still functioning tech was strapped to her belt, and one to her left forearm. Double checking to make sure she got everything she left the room, heading down for the breakfast. It was a sad selection of breakfast but she had learned to take any form of food at this point. Her plate of food was full and she was sitting in a corner table, able to see the whole room. She knew when Ezra walked in, but since he didn't seem too pleased she opted for keeping quiet for another moment.
Finishing another piece of bread she turned back to get his attention. "Hey." It was said directed toward Ezra, in a tone to get his head to turn. Her chin lifted at the same time.

His head turned as Alani called his name. Ezra managed to allow himself a small smile, walking over to her, quiet and only wearing his pack. "Hey."

There was a clatter outside, so the noise drew her eyes to the window but there was nothing to be seen right away. Here eyes flickered between him and the window once then she turned back to finish her food, pushing herself to a stand. Either it would be grab more food for time to leave she figured

He glanced at the window, and manages to catch a glimpse of the hunter, looking inside for him. He frowns and waits against the booth as she finishes eating. "grab some food here if you enjoy it. Wrap it up and put it in your pack, then we need to check out and get out of here quickly."

"Let's check out." She walked over to the counter and rung the bell, a little lady came out to help, them making small talk as she handed over the key. With much thanks she walked towards the front doors. "Am I leading the way or you?" She asked gesturing for him to go first. She didn't mean any rudeness, just to remind him that she didn't know the way/

He walks over to the desk, tapping his foot as the two ladies talked. "Hurry up." he mutters as she finally walks away. "Come on." He says, grabbing her hand and running. there was a shot behind them, as the hunter had been waiting for him to come out. "Head towards the square, dead ahead. I'll get him off our trail and meet you by the fountian in 20." he takes to the air, flying towards the woods, snd the hunter followed him.
