Welcome to this month's Hidden Gems challenge!

Hidden Gems is a fantastic way to plow through those mountains of books claiming space in your house or e-reader. I have found that this challenge produces some fun group interaction as well, because someone else chooses which book you’ll read next.

If you sign up, you'll be matched up with a Hidden Gems partner. You will choose a book from the list your partner designates which you have already read and cannot believe your partner hasn’t read yet. Your partner will do the same for you with the list you designate. The point is to find that “Hidden Gem” that you think they’ll love… because you adored it when you read it!

Let us know which books you choose for each other. When you finish reading your gem, let us know what you thought about it. Perhaps your Hidden Gem might find its way to someone else’s wish list!

Match-ups will be created on the 10th of the month. Please choose books for each other by the 13th.

Sign up by telling us which list you’d like your partner to choose from.

Happy reading, friends!

for Jenn

Jenn, may I just say "All the Lynette Eason books"??? Haha! You've got some good ones to look forward to from her.

I literally squealed when I saw you had The Last Bookshop in London on your list. That's my first choice for you--I loved it! It immediately went on my buy list and reread list as soon as I finished the library audio. I now have a paperback that I'm trying to squeeze into a busy summer schedule.

To round it out, there's a shorty by Lisa Wingate and a heartbreaker by Kim Vogel Sawyer.

Happy reading!

The Last Bookshop in London A Novel of World War II by Madeline Martin The Sea Glass Sisters (Carolina Heirlooms, #0.5) by Lisa Wingate Life Flight (Extreme Measures, #1) by Lynette Eason Bringing Maggie Home by Kim Vogel Sawyer

Thank you for choosing those books, I'm leaning towards reading the Karen Kingsbury one, but will see what I feel like once I have finished my current read.
For you I choose Jaded (Mended Hearts #1) by Varina Denman Land of Silence by Tessa Afshar Waves of Mercy (Waves of Mercy, #1) by Lynn Austin Long Way Gone by Charles Martin

Sarita, agree those are all great choices! You can't go wrong with whichever one you select.

I'm debating between these two selected by Katrina:
Shadows of Ladenbrooke Manor by Melanie Dobson Heart in the Highlands by Heidi Kimball

I chose for Katrina:
A Season on the Wind by Suzanne Woods Fisher

Happy reading all!

message 21: by Jenn (new)

Jenn | 592 comments Thanks for the options, Andrea. I'm not sure which I will choose, yet, as they all look good!

For you, I choose:
A Noble Groom (Michigan Brides, #2) by Jody Hedlund Just Look Up (Harbor Pointe, #1) by Courtney Walsh When the Heart Sings (Music of Hope #2) by Liz Tolsma Freedom's Song by Kim Vogel Sawyer
I've read and enjoyed the first one. The other three look like they will be good. (I would have chosen that Eason book on your list, but the release date is so far away). Enjoy!

Missy | 938 comments Hi Kate -

Again a lot of good choices, but I went with the two that I have read - both were good.

The Thief of Blackfriars Lane by Michelle Griep - was good and looking forward to the second book coming out.

The Lost Girl of Astor Street by Stephanie Morrill - enjoyed this one also.

Oh yeah. I had forgotten I put the Eason one on my asap list. I pre-ordered the book, so I think I had put it on there as a reminder to myself to read it right away when it comes in.

Thanks for the choices, Jenn! I'll likely get to the Kim Vogel Sawyer book first, but I really need to read all four soon.

Thanks Brittany I think I’m to go with either An Uncommon Woman by Laura Frantz or The Lost Lieutenant (Serendipity & Secrets, #1) by Erica Vetsch

I haven’t read any on your shelf so I have picked based on author

The Yielding (Age of Faith, #2) by Tamara Leigh , Love and the Silver Lining (State of Grace, #2) by Tammy L. Gray or My Heart Belongs in the Blue Ridge Laurel's Dream by Pepper D. Basham

Hope you enjoy the one you pick

So glad Katrina! It was a favorite from 2021. The ending of each chapter about a bird was a wonderful addition to the novel.
