The nostalgia pretty much stays the entire book, but at least lessens a bit as the "current" events take precedence.
What I loved about the book is that so much of it is factual, Chizmar really grew up there, many of his memories are real, but then he tosses in so much fiction that the lines become blurred. It does a good job of making it feel like you are reading a true crime.


I’m also dragging my reading, right now. The book has been so boring. Reading about his childhood. There better be a reason for it, that makes it worth it.


It started off slowly, but it’s picking up its pace. I have become addicted to it.

I also don't read any true crime! I think the reason I liked this was because I've become familiar with Chizmar over the years so it was fun to try to sieve the true from the fiction!
