"I promised her." Anira finally whispered, her voice breaking. "The girl, the little eleven year old. I promised her! I swore to her that I would destroy the staff. She died thinking I would, I can't have her wait in longer. Please.."

"If we leave now we're never going to destroy it. You're going to have to wait for everyone to be ready to leave, we'll leave first light tomorrow, it's already getting dark now and that'll make the trip even more hazardous.

"Just leave me alone..." Anira whispered, closing the door behind. She knew it would be stupid to leave then, but she had a promise to keep... Her composure broke slightly, and she choked down some tears.

Theron sighed and sat down, wondering what would happen now. She'd need to come out to get food soon. He decided to go and spend time with his fellow friends

About an hour later, Anira came out. She had spent ages tracing each crack, design, and blemish. She looked more tired now, more broken down, her hair sort of loosing it's shine. She had used up a lot of her magic, fighting the sorcerer.

Theron say alone next to the fire, everyone else was just resting around, lazying until they had something to do. Cray was messing with a piece of wood and a knife, carving shapes into it while another man spoke to him. Theron turned and saw the princess come out, and moved up to make room for her to sit down.

Anira nodded in acknowledgement, taking the seat silently. Her hands kept fiddling with each other, nervous. She new she had even acting rashly, but wasn't in the mood to apologize.

"I'm sorry for earlier." He said after a few moments of complete silence. He wasn't sure what to say to be honest so he decided to say what he could, and that was all he had.

Anira let out a sharp breath from her nose, sort of a scoff. She didn't believe he was honestly sorry, she just thought he was saying sorry because she was the princess. However, she nodded again, staring at the ground. Her red hair was a mess, her vibrant eyes dull.

"You know what, how about you go back into the room and come out when you're ready to act like an adult." He suggested harshly, he tried to be nice and she screwed it up and never even gave him a chance, he didn't want her around anymore. All she did was cause arguments,

Anira's head snapped up, her eyes wide and now filled with anger. "Excuse me?!" She asked in an angered but creepily calm voice, clenching her jaw.

"I am trying to be nice with you yet you act like this. I give up. Go and sit alone until you calm down and are ready to speak to me properly. I can't be assed speaking with you like you're acting like an immature brat."

"You see, the problem here is not only me acting cold to you. It's the fact that you're acting like I am the only one at fault." Anira replied in her angered but calm voice, the look in her eyes somewhat like betrayal.

"Ha. I tried saying sorry to you, I've tried multiple times and I've sincerely meant it yet you act as if I'm the sorcerer himself." He replied, his voice remaining calm as he looked back into the flames.

"One, I find it hard to accept when you've changed my mission so much, and after learning about the guard's existence after the war, and two, if I treated you like I would the sorcerer, I would be trying to kill you." Anira promptly stood up and moved to a different area of the camp, her fists clenched, white at the knuckles.

"Get back to your room if you want to act like a child." he said angrily as he reached down beside him to grab some food that was cooked earlier. It was only some rabbit meat they had collected earlier in the day before searching. He bit into it hungrily, taking pieces of it and eating them. He then took what was left of it and put it on a small plate, or what they were using as plates anyway, and passed it over to her.

Anira merely nodded in thanks, not speaking or even looking at the man. He complained about witnessing all those horrors? She had lived them, and was scarred because of it. Literally scarred, her back never again to be unblemished. She ate quickly, her head bowed down.
