Sometimes, I wonder if the main character in a fantasy novel can be something other than young and beautiful. How about a vampire that makes the terrible mistake of biting an old and withered rock star and is doomed to forever look like that rock star. On one hand, he can't buy a date. On the other, he has a thousand great guitar riffs.
