For our 2022 group reads, we will be having alternates for each of our monthly reads. So for July we have chosen two books each - Light cover/Dark cover - therefore members will have four to choose from when you vote in the poll. (Once again, all Aussie authors)

Our choices are:

The Last Woman in the World by Inga Simpson The Last Woman in the World by Inga Simpson

Fear is her cage. But what's outside is worse...

It's night, and dust swirls against the walls of Rachel's home in the Australian bush. Her fear of other people has led her to a reclusive life as far from them as possible, her only occasional contact with her sister.

The Last Guests by J.P. Pomare The Last Guests by J.P. Pomare

Newlyweds Lina and Cain don't make it out to their vacation home on gorgeous Lake Tarawera as often as they'd like, so when Cain suggests they rent the property out on weekends, Lina reluctantly agrees. While the home has been special to her family for generations, their neighbors are all signing up to host renters, and frankly, she and Cain could use the extra money. What could go wrong? And at first, Lina is amazed at how quickly guests line up to spend a weekend--and at how much they're willing to pay.

Birds of a Feather by Tricia Stringer Birds of a Feather by Tricia Stringer

Eve has been a partner in a Wallaby Bay fishing fleet as long as she can remember. Now they want her to sell - but what would her life be without work? She lives alone, her role on the town committee has been spiked by malicious gossip and she is incapacitated after surgery. For the first time in her life she feels weak, vulnerable - old.

The Family Across the Street by Nicole Trope The Family Across the Street by Nicole Trope

Sometimes, the most perfect families are hiding the most terrible secrets. How well do you know the people next door…?

Everybody wants to live on Hogarth Street, the pretty, tree-lined avenue with its white houses. The new family, The Wests, are a perfect fit. Katherine and John* seem so in love and their gorgeous five-year-old twins race screeching around their beautiful emerald-green lawn.
