Second The Gate to Women's Country and adding Snare by .Katharine Kerr - see https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1.... The nomadic culture is matriarchal and there is some interesting background as to why. (And life is too short to try to plough through the link and list system given the number of books Katharine Kerr wrote and even worse the number of books with Snare in the title. I did try to do this properly.....:(. I hope someone knows a better way of linking to it, sorry, spent a fair bit of time going in fruitless circles.)

Carro, I usually search with title and author if there are more than a few of the same title. So in this case 'snare kerr' would give you the correct one :)

I think The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms fits the theme also.

Ah well, wrong end of the stick there..... Good book, recommend it. Snare. Thought from the opening of this thread that it was supposed to be building a longer list of matriachal sff?

@Anna - thanks will try and remember that. I did the author, then was looking to be able to search within the author and it all went pear shaped.

The point of these "book list" threads is to continue listing books that fit the nomination themes. Sometimes people want to nominate books that aren't eligible for the poll, so this is a space to list all of those. And of course it's where everyone can find all the excellent books that were nominated, without adding all of them to your TBR. The nomination threads get deleted, and this is how we decided to save the book lists.
