Starting part 2. Daniel, this one is stunning and I'm already exhausted from the emotions up to this point. Terrified to continue, but here I go.

Daniel, I just saw a news piece about how deaf people in Ukraine are struggling. Often in bomb shelters with no light, or just trying to live a life without being able to hear gunshots or bombs. These are things I’ve never thought about.

Did you do any research regarding deafness and the challenges the deaf often face?

That’s awful. So hard, everything that’s going on over there. I can’t say I did much, if any, research before jumping in with him. With this stuff, I typically just do my best and hope the reader forgives my stumbles. But I’ve been lucky enough in Marcos’s case to hear - so far, anyway - positive things about him from people close to the Deaf community.

Daniel, as July is almost over, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for joining us here these last few months as we've tackled The Nightmare Chronicles.

I think on the whole, (even though a few are still reading), our members have enjoyed reading these books together. Thanks for being here and providing answers to our questions and comments.
I hope this turned out beneficially for you, and I am hoping that, perhaps, we could continue on buddy reading when the next book comes out!

This book was fantastic. It was tense, nail biting and (view spoiler)[broke my heart. Of all the people to die, Mariah was the best of them all. Marcos lost another Mom. :(

I wanted to kill all the Flashlighters and was so f’ing glad that John went full on John Wick. Hmmm, the name fits. Hahaha

What’s everyone’s thoughts on Isaac? You think he’ll make it. I hope so for Marshal’s sake!

Seriously, how John killed Matthew was very rewarding and symbolic. (hide spoiler)]

It seems that John brings death no matter where he goes, whether he wants to or not. If only he hadn't taken off in the plane and listened to his inner brain instead! Mariah might still be alive if he did. I think I was more sad for Marcos than I was for Mariah, if that makes any sense. Marcos just cannot take any more losses.

The parallels in this series with the main characters is super good!

I loved all the parts with the acupuncturist. I’ve gotten acupuncture quite a few times and when she was crawling over the sleeping bodies with her needles, it was terrifying. I loved it!! (hide spoiler)]

I just finished. I ate ice cream while I finished and I'm still in pieces. I haven't been this gripped by the emotions in a series since The Dark Tower.

Yay!! That’s great news. These book covers are fantastic.

I feel the same way about Daniele Serra. I first noticed him about a decade ago when he was doing covers for a horror publisher named Darkfuse. They are long gone, but I'm so happy that Daniele is still around. I adore his work and his covers are always instantly recognizable.
