JasonReads | 54 comments I know June's not over yet, but I doubt that I'm going to be able to finish anymore books on the final day. πŸ˜…

1. Remote Control by Nnedi Okorafor.
2. The Guns of Avalon by Roger Zelazny.
3. The Songs of Distant Earth by Arthur C. Clarke.
4. The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje.
5. Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke by Eric LaRocca.
6. The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler.
7. Kris Longknife: Defiant by Mike Shepherd
8. Andromeda's Choice by William C. Dietz.

I read a lot more than I normally do in a month. My motivation is being only 12 books away from hitting my 40 book reading challenge and my goal is to try and have that finished by August.

Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke was easily the most disappointing book I read this month and if we're being honest, ever. Overhyped, boring, and completely lackluster. I can't pick just one or two books as my favorites because I enjoyed all but the aforementioned novella.

Raymond Chandler, on the other hand, absolutely lives up to the hype. That man could do with a sentence what a renaissance sculptor could do with a block of marble.

Next month is mainly going to be mysteries, thrillers, with some fantasy for flavor. I've got a sufficiently fat stack of the first two, and I'm going to add in some ebooks and audiobooks to round them out.

Bonnie Eclectic month. Science fiction/Fantasy is one of my genres too. Lately I've been reading a lot of women's fiction/cozy stuff for summer reading, so feel I may need to add some fantasy or historical back in.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16959 comments Nice month Jason. I picked up and enjoyed The Sword-Edged Blonde after you mentioned it on your May reads post. It was nice to delve back into a fantasy book.

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9502 comments Good variety, Jason. I like the way you listed all your reads and commented on the worst and the best of the lot.

I don't think I've ever read Chandler, shame on me. Another to add to the list.
