Neenee | 95 comments I am currently reading Anthony Bourdain's book Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly. Is it going to be under non-fiction or memoir?

message 3: by Georgette (new)

Georgette (tarlia) | 28 comments I'd put them under the category I'm less likely to read again. I was pretty happy to check the trilogy off my list although it could have gone under one or two other categories!

Welcome aboard!

warhawke | 262 comments Mod
I agree with Georgette. I might even cheat and change category later lol!

message 5: by Neenee (new)

Neenee | 95 comments Thanks, warhawke & Georgette. I guess I'll do what you both suggested

message 6: by Georgette (new)

Georgette (tarlia) | 28 comments I won't consider it cheating. :) I too would swap out a category or two if I'm having trouble finding certain books to fit into it.

message 7: by Neenee (new)

Neenee | 95 comments yup.... no fun if u can't flex d list

message 8: by Neenee (new)

Neenee | 95 comments Just finish the second book... A romance by Georgette Heyer: The Grand Sophy

message 9: by Neenee (new)

Neenee | 95 comments Next is a book that became a movie The Light Between Oceans. It's been in my tbr shelf for more than a year. It's time to blow the dust off its covers.

It's going to be a movie?!
OMG! I love that book, it's so beautiful. It gave me a really long hangover :D

message 11: by Neenee (new)

Neenee | 95 comments Yess, it is!! Coming out this year maybe. And Michael Fassbender is playing Tom. ... Soooo exciting isn't it?

message 12: by warhawke, The Dark One (new)

warhawke | 262 comments Mod
I'm totally fangirling right now haha!

message 13: by Neenee (new)

Neenee | 95 comments The Light Between Oceans
Oh, so sad... This book shouldn't be so sad.

message 14: by Neenee (new)

Neenee | 95 comments I'm stumped to find books that are published this year. Any idea, anyone? Cheapstake Alert: I'm only willing to pay RM8 or less for that book.

message 15: by warhawke, The Dark One (new)

warhawke | 262 comments Mod
Neenee, just wondering, are doing the challenge in sequence?

message 16: by Neenee (new)

Neenee | 95 comments Yup, that's OCD in me working

message 17: by warhawke, The Dark One (new)

warhawke | 262 comments Mod
Whaaat?!

You're a champion haha!
Good luck to you :D
By the way, I wish I can help with book less than RM8 published this year, but I have no idea lol!

message 18: by Neenee (new)

Neenee | 95 comments Hahaha!! that's cute. i think i need to skip no. 4 first lah

message 19: by Neenee (new)

Neenee | 95 comments warhawke wrote: "Whaaat?! "

Yay! I found a free book published in 2015 in the Google Play over the weekend. I thought it has some steamy smutty stuff. Naah.. nothing, nichts. It's just dry. What do you expect from something free nowadays!

Next is The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency (No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency #1) by Alexander McCall Smith for "A book with a number in the title"

Ok, I know it doesn't sound that fun that I follow the list religiously to a T. It is just like an itch. But I can see that I need to skip and jumble around somewhere down the list. I will do that but for now...

message 20: by warhawke, The Dark One (new)

warhawke | 262 comments Mod
It will be a mean feat if you can do that!
But don't worry, you have a whole year to do it :D

message 21: by Neenee (last edited Mar 16, 2015 07:26AM) (new)

Neenee | 95 comments Finished with The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency (No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency #1) by Alexander McCall Smith . An interesting take on Botswana people and their mysteries. But I feel something is missing... Everything seems so simple there. I like the earlier Alexander McCall Smith book that I read.

Anyhow, I think I have to skip (at last, warhawke) the next book in the list, a book written by someone below 30. Looking at my tbr shelf, all these authors either are over 30 or I don't know their age when looking at their bio.

message 22: by warhawke, The Dark One (new)

warhawke | 262 comments Mod
You know what, I thought the age thing might be a problem for me too because author don't usually put their age in their bio. But I look at it this way. I look at their picture. If they look young I'd say that qualify as below 30 lol!

message 23: by Neenee (new)

Neenee | 95 comments warhawke wrote: " But I look at it this way. I look at their picture. If they look young ..."

Yeah, that's a good idea. But all writers of my tbr books look older that 30 to me. Heheh.

Now, to the next book with non-human characters:The Marvelous Land of Oz (Books of Wonder). I got this book for free when I bought my Samsung tablet some years ago. Just perfect for this category.

message 24: by Neenee (last edited Mar 29, 2015 07:46AM) (new)

Neenee | 95 comments Next is for something funny. Maybe a P.G. Wodehouse'. I bought one of his books last year

message 25: by Neenee (last edited Apr 04, 2015 07:41PM) (new)

Neenee | 95 comments Done the funny book with Wodehouse' Young Men in Spats by P.G. Wodehouse . I found it's not that funny. But maybe it's because of the different era and culture.

message 26: by Neenee (last edited Apr 13, 2015 04:45AM) (new)

Neenee | 95 comments For the next item on the list, I visited the book by one of my favourite female authors: Diana Wynne Jones . I miss her a lot.

message 27: by Neenee (new)

Neenee | 95 comments 10. A mystery or thriller - checked. with jo nesbo's the redbreast.

the next book with one word title will be middlesex by jeffrey eugenides

message 28: by Neenee (new)

Neenee | 95 comments I am going to skip book on no. 21. I asked my mom she said she doesn't have any favourites. Oh well....

Anyway, for 'the book that scares you', I am reading A Monster Calls

message 29: by Neenee (new)

Neenee | 95 comments A Monster Calls didn't scare me, but made me cry. So I'm going to do another jump and put it under no. 38 - a book that made you cry.

message 30: by Yen (new)

Yen Lian | 43 comments Wow~ you're doing really good progress with unique books for each requirement!

message 31: by Neenee (new)

Neenee | 95 comments Thanks, Yen. But it takes like forever for each category
