Huck Flynn | 380 comments Finally succumbed. Got a txt from friend i'd been at a music session with last sunday to say he and partner had tested positive. this was tuesday - i did a lateral flow test that day and following day - both negative and no symptoms but started feeling a bit shivery late wednesday. thursday morning felt slight head cold and took another test - this time positive. So isolating. So far mild effects - sniffle, tire easily, bit of a cough intermittently but nothing out of ordinary under normal circumstances - i often get mild hay fever and have been working in garden a lot. Hey ho, we'll see how it goes! A morning paracetamol with honey and lemon seems to be keeping the worst at bay.

Val H. | 22146 comments Good luck Huck! To think, two years ago we would have been waving the garlic and crucifixes at you before running a mile. Now it's hey, ho, bad luck but it was bound to happen sometime. My three children, their partners and four of the five grandchildren have all had it during April/May this year. Not sure how Mr H and I have avoided it. I've been coughing for over a week and in the last 24 hours have developed a streaming head cold but the rapid antigen tests are still saying negative. I will persist though just in case.

Thanks Val, i often get summer colds with those symptoms by dressing "over optimistically" and getting a chill, not to mention pollen related sneezes. Easy to get paranoid but take care.

Get better soon.

Seems to be no rhyme nor reason, as to how serious the symptoms are with Covid.
I had it, and just had a bit of a cold and one night with a highish temperature. My wife had it and was sick as anything for ten days.
Neither of us ever had any vaccinations.

But locally a man got really sick, twice with Covid, and he'd had all the jabs.

Another neighbour with only one lung, who everyone feared getting it, eventually did. He just had mild symptoms over 5 days, and had, had all jabs and boosters.
