They both die at the end, 11.22.63 is sad on some basis, A little life I haven't read but my sister cried and got all the way through (which is rare) so she must have enjoyed it, atonement I think she cried at, bird in the bamboo cage is sad. Most of these my sister has read because those are the books she likes :)

B. Goodwin | 63 comments Talent certainly has sad moments, including one unchangeable fact. Fortunately the protagonist gets what she wants, but at what cost?

Talent

T ✩ Handmaiden Of Amidala (tarria) A Thousand Splendid Suns... be aware of the trigger warnings tho.

Also maybe We Were Liars.

Tasha The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

ANA :) Full tilt by Emma Scott

Definitely sad, but the second book is like a band-aid. I was really close to not reading the second one after I saw the synopsis, but belive me, you want to read it.
I don’t like to overhype books that I love, because I want people to be surprised while they read it. So I’ll just say, Full tilt is an unforgettable sad read.
