What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Probably 2021 maybe older. The main character doesn't have enough money to get into the gated magic colleague but her best friend is there. She has a fear of fire and sleeps with a fire extinguisher under her bed. She doesn't want to go to learn magic but to hunt down her mothers killer. She strikes bargain with a prince (?) and they pretend she has magic and is from a different village because they have a law that says you cant talk about different villages. She discovers she's a succubus? And finds her families home.
She beats up a guy from her colleague (he's the son of a political figure) for being a creep and right at the end it turns out they're magic hunters.
