Lenore (lenorenrr) | 528 comments I use PaperBackSwap and I really like it. However, like with SwapTree, it is hard to find paranormal romance and urban fantasy books. Does anyone know of a site that is just for swapping romance?

Lenore (lenorenrr) | 528 comments I love it too. I just find the wait lists of 208 people for newer books insane.

MsBeaglely | 118 comments I know there are other book swapping sites, but none of them are genre specific. PB Swap does offer a lot of the paranormal romance & urban fantasy books; however, there can be rather long waits. I remember the number of requests for the latest Charlaine Harris & Hunting Ground were over 600. Thankfully I was under 150 for Hunting Ground & finally got a copy last week. Some books move really fast, like Hunting Ground, and some just drag (usually trade paperbacks & hardcovers).

I also think the wait is insane, however, So far I haven't waited too long on a list for a book. If I start reading a series I go and add all the books right away to my wishlist and remove them if the series bombs. So far I've been very lucky. New books, now that takes for ever to get. I have gotten one new book but it took a couple months for me to get it. It was ok for me because it wasn't part of a series or anything.

I just found out that PB Swap has added a new feature that lets you put individual books on hold. In the past I have accepted 2nd & 3rd books in a series before reading the first book & kept my fingers crossed. Plus, there are a couple of series that I'm not sure I want to pursue after finishing the first book. I just know that if I do decide to read them in the future, I don't want to pay full price for them & my local library is not the best when it comes to new book series.

I know what you mean about the wait. Unfortunately the 2 books that I would KILL for (well, at least offer up my cat for) are probably NEVER going to appear in PBS. Sigh, ah the perils of being a fabricaholic and wanting books on the HISTORY of fabrics, right? :o) But I do have a hard time there finding some of the PNR or even UF that I want. Fortunately, there are 3 used bookstores within 10 miles of my house--plus about 8 thrift stores (Goodwills are sprouting up like mushrooms) and I check out there too. And of course, when the library has a book sale, I check there as well. Sigh, my book addiction is horrific. My hubby claims that when I go into withdrawal I'm like a blood-sucking fiend. (Note he was wise enough NOT to call me a vampire.) :oP Hubbies who support our addictions are so great, aren't they?

FlibBityFLooB Ann -- inquiring minds want to know... what books are you looking for that you would offer your cats for!?!?!?!? *grin*

I love my cats, even when Nish plops himself on the book that I'm trying to read so I will give him love and attention ;)

I work with a stitchery group at Kenmore Plantation and Museum and we need these as reference books.

FlibBityFLooB Cool! I wish I knew how to quilt. I did find it funny the books that other members requested along side those books on PBS. Such a weird variety :)

Back on topic... I like to request the isbn of a new book on paperbackswap before it comes out. That puts me in the queue nice and early :) That helps with getting some of the PNR and UF titles

lol, my little Gigi used to "help" me quilt. She was a Ragdoll. She thought she should have final approval on ALL fabrics that I used. If she didn't like a fabric, she'd knock it off the table, and heaven help me if I tried to use it anyway. I had one fabric that I wanted to use--I'd matched all the OTHER fabrics to it. She didn't like it, so she knocked it off. I picked it up and put it back onto the table. She knocked it down again--we went through this about 3 times. The 4th time I couldn't find what she'd done with the fabric--until I went to change the kitty litter. Yes, she'd dragged it INTO the kitty litter, then had carefully scooped litter over top of it. Needless to say--I did not use that fabric. Sigh, I still miss her. She was probably the smartest cat we ever owned.

Caramelle | 106 comments Unfortunately PBS only ships within the US. They're currently working on Canada.

Does anyone know a site that allows swap/sell to Canada?
(other than Amazon & Chapters/Indigo)
